Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 5th December 2016]

Perhaps I'm not being observant enough then. I'm not claiming he's an angel but don't think he's up there with Roy Keane, Duncan Ferguson etc

He's not like them. They'd punch you and wouldn't try to hide it. Fabregas is a sneaky **** that instigates the trouble then tries to make out he's the victim.

Noted, I'll keep an eye out for it. I'd argue he's been relatively well-behaved at Chelsea. Perhaps his behaviour was as you've described whilst at Arsenal / Barca.

Very impressive assist record (I know that's not what we're discussing) - Ryan Giggs, take a bow.

You can analyse a red card situation and enforce and extended ban afterwards right?

My argument is Fabregas should have been off = 3 game ban

Fernandinho should have been sent off (as he was) as then given a further ban. He was pushing his own coaching staff and wouldn't leave the pitch ffs. The force he grabbed Fabregas's throat with was pretty brash too (particularly the final one)

That is not what you started out by saying. Taylor should have sent Cesc off, along with Chalobah.

Sending off Cesc, Chalobah, Aguero, and Fernandinho for violent conduct is pretty much all Taylor can do, he cannot instantly ban players for longer. That is literally all he can do, those offences committed, regardless of severity were red cards.

Fernandinho is lucky to not be charged with failing to leave the field. As are both clubs (in my opinion) for failing to control their players/staff. It was entertaining, but it was absolutely embarrassing.

Taylor was absolutely abysmal, without knowledge of what he wrote in his reports and recommended; it is impossible to tell how badly he messed up other chargers.

He's a sly coward, nothing more to it. It's frustrating because he gets away with it.

Keep an eye out for it and perhaps it's based on what happened before he joined Chelsea? Aren't we discussing him on the back of him doing exactly what I described 2 days ago for Chelsea?

Fabregas is a ****house. Always has and always will be one. He doesn't miss a trick when it comes to instigating trouble to get others sent off. Just like Ander Herrera, for some reason he doesn't get called out for it though.

I agree with you on pretty much everything but I disagree that Chalobah should have been sent off. You can argue your point all you want here but let's just agree to disagree. You can read my previous post where I have elaborated on why I am of this opinion.

I'm not saying the ref can ban players for longer than 3 games - where did you get that idea from? That decision obviously has to be made after the game by a panel.

Yes the ref was poor the whole game - favouring Chelsea quite heavily.

Jesus - calm down. I'm just saying I haven't noticed it much at Chelsea, I'm not denying it or defending him.

I remember why I stopped posting in here as Chelsea fan. Bloody pointless - so much contempt.

'Defending' a team mate, does not exempt you from the laws of the game. It was violent conduct and Chalobah should have gone.

You have been editing to make it sound like you were talking about retrospective punishment, but you're comments without edits were not phrased like that.

The referee should have handed out four red cards; he did not. Due to the absolutely terrible performance from Taylor; it is nearly impossible to explain why players were not handed further bans without knowing how badly he then proceeded to royally arse up the paper work post match, and what he/his team would have admitted to seeing.

I'm perfectly calm. Your post just didn't make sense, it was almost as if Fabregas hadn't acted like a **** 2 days ago.

And you need to stop being so sensitive. Nobody has shown you contempt - they've disagreed with you, that's all.

Told you I'm not discussing this further. It's like talking to a brick wall. We disagree, simple.

Neville: "Chalobah was right to come over and push [Aguero]. You have to defend your teammates when you see something like that."

No I haven't - my argument throughout is that they should have received different punishments for their behaviour. Yes I reiterated that for a ban further than 3 games, it would have to be assessed by a panel. Kinda obvious that.

Neville is not the FA rule book :D

Shoving someone over like that is a straight red card.

Not saying he is, he is Sky Sport's best pundit thought and just happens to share my opinion.

Context of the situation is necessary in certain circumstances.

It's ok, the laws of the game do not apply when defending a team mate, according to Gustov and Gary Neville (who I'm sure in that quote says he doesn't care what the rules say :) ).
