Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [1st - 6th February 2019]

Patched up defence concedes 3 against Man City shocker. I suppose we should be happy our goal difference wasn't made even worse

When are we going to get Liverpool playing their matches before City play theirs? Or at least at the same time.

There's differing types of pressure to when fixtures are played and iirc Liverpool have played the last 3 PL fixtures after City have played theirs. I know I'd prefer my team to be playing second.

problem is same **** at the back ...every game so exposed .bould scratching he's head wtf ....terrible mess
The problem is: new manager, same injury crisis. The question is whether it's just bad luck, or a fundamental problem with training methods and medical personnel

I don’t think it’s any of that, it’s that we haven’t invested properly in our defence since Wenger left and that’s down to that cowboy owner of ours, who doesn’t seem interested in making us a title winning team.

Saying that though we are doing better than we were under Wenger last season, more points at this point and the points difference this season between us and City isn’t as massive as it was.

Not saying we look any better but I guess it’s a minor improvement. Hopefully come summer time our owner will invest in our defence to make it better than the current crop of crap we have.

Whats funny is that our owner has spent 2billion on LA Rams but aint spent a penny at arsenal(is there a link to this?)

Arsenal dont need billions ffs we just need half a billion lol

get 5 world class players at around 90-100m a pop lol

No seriously what we need is two world class cb(The pair should not cost over 120m) to start of with and a proper winger.

Next we should start looking at replacing our fullbacks and creative midfielders.

Arsenal are in dying need of investment

I can see us finishing outside the top 4 this season easily.

THat city side took nearly a billion to assemble and still quite young too and can easily play at the top for another 3 seasons

The Rams spent more than $300 million to follow the newest method of team-building in the NFL, and it worked perfectly
  • The Rams turnaround was sparked by quarterback Jared Goff, whose rookie contract allowed the team to go on a spending spree unparalleled in the league.

Don’t underestimate the pull of arsenal as a football club. They’re steeped in history and known the world over. And they’re based in one of the worlds most major, elite cities.

And these world class players would move from their current bigger clubs, ignoring presumed interest from other bigger clubs to move to Arsenal would they?
If each knew they wasn't the only world class player coming, and if the wages were decent why not? Chelsea and Man City both did it.

Which five world class players have Chelsea bought?

Which five world class players have Chelsea bought?

I cant be bothered to name all the decent players they have bought over the years. But when they went from an ordinary club to a Premiership and Champions league winning club, they purchased a lot of players to make that leap. Man City did the same. Man Utd tried to do that with Sanchez Pogba and Lukaku. Arsenal have never done that, they're just happy to plod along.

Complete misunderstanding of the NFL lol. There is a cap, so not having to allocate a lot of it to their QB frees that up, they haven't done a City/Manu/PSG style of spending
It’s a bit like us. If we hadn’t have allocated so many resources to Ozil, we’d have been freer to spend.

Lol fact is our owner won’t shell out money for world class players. If he would then we would be in with a shout.

The fact is that we can attract world class players, it’s just that we don’t pay the fees nor will we pay them what they want wages wise. Even though we can easily afford it...until we get an owner, not anytime soon but if we get a mega rich oil sheikh etc then I imagine things would change. But at the moment it won’t due to our owner not being that interested in getting us players that would have us winning or at least challenging for trophies.
