Every move from Utd came down that side, they played Di Maria over there because he's our weakest link, regardless of the keeper the shot wasn't on target, Gibbs put it in by doing something no sensible defender would have done, stick a leg out facing goal while basically sitting on the floor with no clue who is behind you, from his position he had more chance of deflecting the ball into the net than away and he stuck the leg out anyway.
The goal was his fault because without him it wouldn't have been a goal, pretty simple logic.
