Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [21st - 26th March 2014]

Well were level so thats something, Flanno is really having a bad game, All our midfield is bombing on, Gerrard leaving too many gaps so leaves Agger/Skrtel with 3v2.

That being said we still look more than capable of scoring, Rodgers should still possibly get Lucas on to get more control in the middle leave Sterling for abit yet and his pace can be used late on for the better result

Textbook away performance from Palace so far. Well organised and patient without the ball, quick and adventurous on the counter.

2-2 HT

Really poor display from us so far. Cardiff have so much pace in attack it's baffling to see us play so high up the pitch and commit so many men forward.

Allen needs to work far harder to help Flanagan in defense, Gerrard needs to stop pushing so far forward and getting caught out of position and Coutinho needs to sort himself out as well.

This type of Jekyll and Hyde performance has been too common this season and Rodgers needs to stop underestimating the smaller teams as often as he does.

Dont think we can blame the Jekyll and Hyde entirely on Rodgers tbh we have had this problem with smaller teams for a few seasons now.

It is his job to make the players more disciplined, unfortunately he can't force them to do that, nor can he instantly fixed the absolutely atrocious passing on display, we've had 10 minutes of clinical play around their box with Cardiff not getting a sniff and we get two goals.

Then we've had 30 minutes of everyone ****ing the ball away

He cant fix it instantly no but he could have changed midfield around early on but he doesnt nor does he ever sub Gerrard if he has a poor game.

He always allows the players more freedom in these type of matches which inevitably means there's less structure and more space for the opposition to run in to.

Perhaps that is what you should do with a Captain, you keep them on, you want them to play through it and become the player they are. Second half to come, Gerrard will hopefully pull himself together and boss the midfield this time.

He'll need some help, the others around him have been hopefully bar 10 minutes also.

I agree but cant use that excuse all the time, Its not entirely his fault today tbf Allen is being bad but then he doesnt always perform imo anyway.

Henderson been best of the three.

Have faith, we need to have faith. I believe in our players this season, they have been amazing so far. We can have one bad half, but there is still a whole 'nother half to go!

Time to see this again I think.

I think maybe we need to start looking at doing something different from free kicks, not scored one like that for a while, iirc.
