Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [21st May 2017]

Not when Real Madrid come calling ;) :p
He is not Real Madrid quality.

It's not a case of quality but price. Real won't pay the sort of fee it will take to sign him when they can get somebody for half the price that will score just as many in their side. Utd would be more of a concern - Mourinho likes a physical centre forward that can lead the line on his own and we know they'll pay stupid fees. I can't see Spurs selling him this season but if big bids come in for the likes of Kane then they're going to have to start paying big wages if they want to keep them long term.

You don't have anything else to look forward to next season :p

Lets be honest here, I think im looking forward to next season more than i have towards any season for a long time. the CL isnt everything and we have been where Spurs are right now and only got an FA cup final out of it. Spurs fans thinking we are salty, Arsenal fans realising this is a start of a new Era... Sorry Spurs fans

Definitely a new era, maybe get some advice from the manu fans, they've been there a few seasons already now.

Especially with Usmanov with full control (finger crossed).

#kickoutKroenke

That's not going to happen though, is it? Usmanov's the ultimate **** stirrer - he knew his offer wasn't getting accepted but made knowing that it couldn't come at a worse time for the Arsenal board.

Yeah Kroenke has already said it wont happen pretty much

just out of interest, you therefore think this £103m bid for Mbappe is not what it seems?

I believe that's the offer RM made recently anyway (and it got turned down of course)

I have no idea about this bid. Assuming there's truth in it I'd assume it's because they see Mbappe as a potential superstar rather than just an excellent striker which is kind of my point re Kane. Paying that sort of fee to sign one of the best players in the world (or a player you believe will become that) is one thing but Kane isn't that and never will be, but will still cost that sort of fee. He's an excellent striker but there's a fair few others around too and they won't cost the £100m that Spurs would demand.

I don't know if it will ever happen. I only say it because it winds my Spurs mate up :p

fair enough

Every striker that even might be transferred this summer seems to be going for ~100m euros at the very least - if the press are to be believed that is , absolutely stupid money for some which are currently still one season wonders - even if they do look highly talented.
Even if that figure includes huge add ons, those figures are just insane for that level of experience
(but yet again its what x club is willing to pay which is the biggest factor)
