Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [22nd - 26th April 2016]

I do have a bit of sympathy for Alli, Jacob was continuously fouling the entire game and should really have been sorted out by the ref. Obviously you can't condone his actions, he needs to learn that players will do their best to rile him up like that and to keep his anger in check.

Jacob is a standard Pullis sort of player, extremely average but fouls a lot so get him in. But then Pullis is a grade A **** so it's nothing new.

Alli's been riding his luck all season and lucky he's not been sent off before. Teams will target him at the Euro's so lets hope he's learnt his lesson now.

well after supporting leicester all my life and going to 7 wembleys finals and travelling around the grounds of league 1 i really never thought i would see this lol. im still not going to say the c word until its mathematically ours lol . ive seen us mess up to many times at the last minute . 3-0 down to swindon in the play off final and come back to 3-3 only to lose to a penalty . it took ages to forget that lol .

regards the players the bids are going to be flying in which is a real shame

mahrez his dream is to play for barcelona who just happen to be lining up a 25m+ bid for him and also arsenal want him in an exchange deal with walcott who i doubt would want to come here .

kante will get offers from everywhere i fear real madrid, chelsea, juventus and utd are just a few said to be very interested :(

i cant see vardy leaving hes just signed a new improved deal and says he loves leicester and feels settled and at home there .

reported also that utd and barca are interested in kasper schmeicel :(

we have mega rich owners but i dont think even their money could keep mahrez and kante im just hoping we can replace them with quality .

we are still in for musa from spartak who is faster than vardy and we purchased amertey in the summer who is a taller version of kante but young and i would like to see to quality lm and rm come in to replace albrighton and mahrez , id love to see us go for bolasie from palace but the rm spot is going to be hard to fill as we also lose the flair and skill and assists of mahrez .

regardless what will be will be but i and along with many other leicester fans prob had this as the impossible dream on their bucket list of things to see before they die and its so close now to being ticked of :)

I like the look of Demarai Gray whenever he's come on, if Mahrez does go at least he will get a bit more of an opportunity? So direct and pacey, got a bit of skill about him as well. Obviously going to be hard to replace someone like Mahrez, especially with someone so young but he looks promising to me.

Not sure United will be in for Schmeichel unless of course DDG goes, i'd be worried if he does though as they will likely come sniffing.

Kante won't be around I don't think, pretty much every club in world football wants a player like that.

Why would Barcelona buy him or more to the point why would Mahrez accept. His dream is to play for Barcelona, not go there and not play most likely. Neymar and Messi, which is he going to displace from the team exactly. He plays on the right so Messi, literally no chance. Neymar, more, he's apparently dragging on a new deal but that has a couple years to go. He'd be utterly mad to sign for Barcelona and basically sit on the bench for a few years. barcelona also have from my understanding a fairly worrying wage bill in terms of their income along with big stars who they are looking at new deals for which means more money.

Arsenal, again Leicester would be mental to accept any kind of exchange for Walcott, Walcott is utter crap and Arsenal would be asking him to leave a team that can win things for a team that can't.

Both Mahrez and Kante are young enough that they can stay another year and still get big deals anywhere else should Leicester fall apart. Should Leicester hit the knock out stages and do well in the league again there would be less reason to leave. Leicester will get over 90mil from league earnings/tv money this year and their wage bill was 48mil last year afaik. It will have gone up but not dramatically, that means there is a huge amount of money left in the budget to give Mahrez and Kante in particular fairly large deals to keep them around.

Winning the title with Leicester is a huge deal, it's history but 20 years from now people won't necessarily remember individual games, playing Utd or Chelsea isn't itself a historical thing. However next year Leicester might end up playing Barcelona in the knock out stages, that would be a potentially 1 in 50 year game, something the players and the fans would specifically remember basically forever. I think the players would be mad to leave when next season is the reward for winning the title this season. Sure they might suck next year, more games with a smaller squad, more difficult games overall, a few more injuries and more games could send them into Newcastle level freefall... so what. They might do a Spurs, have one more great season and get to a quarter or semi final. Kante and Mahrez can get loads more money from leicester next year then when Barca or whoever comes calling the year after they'd get even better deals, it's win win to stay.

Put it this way if Mahrez was on 40k a week today, then Arsenal would offer him 80k a week for next year and he'd be on that deal for 4 years. If he signs a 80k deal with Leicester then leaves the year after teams will offer him 120k instead and he'd have that deal for 4 years and he'd make more money overall.

It'll be interesting to see who Leicester attract in the close season. They might not attract the very top tier of player but they might be able to attract some big names.

Surprised they even made a cake, spurs have had nothing to celebrate for years

Well if they end up ahead of us this season, then they will have something to celebrate about...21 odd yrs they have finished behind us but may have finally broken that duck :o :p

Lescott I imagine.

Unless they pay £150k per week they won't get any big names, not that they needed them this season but still, the couple of decent players will be taken and can leave as heroes and they have to hope whoever comes in for similar money can reproduce the form.

They will do well to finish in the top 10 next year. The best thing they can do is just keep recruiting like they have been, I hope they don't chuck money at it because the club cannot sustain that. Take the massive bonus this has been and keep doing what they have been. They don't need big names.
