Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [24th - 26th August 2012]

Kagawa must start. His accuracy and range of passing are a boost to the team. He adds much creativity able to thread a pass equally well with the inside or outside of his boot, even over medium distances. Hopefully no carrick in defense. Id expect fergie to think about benching nani to let him know.

Fergie confirmed that Buttner wont start so Evra will be at LB as normal, Carrick as CB again

Learning to snowboard on Sunday so I'm going to miss the Man City game. Will have to record the Liverpool game, could be pretty painful to watch.

This is what was said;

"Phil Jones started training yesterday but tomorrow is too soon for him. Robin has had a few days training since Monday. It's a home game and there's every chance he could get a start.

"It's pretty much the same as Monday night injury-wise. Alex will be involved tomorrow because he gives that back-up. Evra could actually play centre-back. He has done in the past. But I don't think Alex will start tomorrow, I think he'll be on the bench."

Rafa's also a bit light defensively - and after last week it cant be said that fulham are that afraid to attack (who-ever they were playing)

Mind you, if Fergie really is considering Evra at CB (which was a complete nightmare the last time wasnt it) , if AB doesnt start, I cant think off the top of my head who would go there (unless he thinks swapping MC and PE would work from last week, but I cant see it myself)

I've already turned cynical and jaded with regards to this season. Not enjoying it so far - three games, two losses, one draw, one goal, 20 hours of travel, close to 750 miles travelled, and a great deal of money lighter! :D

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has been talking about Liverpool ahead of his team's game at Anfield on Sunday: "I think Liverpool will fight for the title this year because they play well, they bought good players, they have a good manager and they have changed their style of play.

He smokes some good stuff.

probably better to spout banal platitudes than say something controversial that could be used to motivate the opposition players

Pretty sure sarcasm doesn't come out well with a really italian accent in english :p

Haha, I wondered what his game was when he came out with that. I thought the trick with a lie was to make it believable. That said, if Liverpool could by some miracle beat City at the weekend I would be immensely grateful.

Really hoping for a good performance tomorrow agaisnt Watford, 2 games so far and we look so slow out of the blocks. Hope Lee Clark can get things sorted for us otherwise I can see fans turning on him.
