I think if Villa win the cup then they go instead of the 6th place team.

Edit: No, just seen what Loki posted above. Seems I'm utterly wrong. In that case I really can't think of any excuse for a result like that.

nope uefa took that away from the premier league

Rodgers tactics and players out of position has always been flawed with him, like today no striker on pitch from the start yes they have been poor fine give a youth team a chance instead of trying a completly different style of player Edit so we have used 13 players today not one striker...

IINM if Arsenal win the Cup then 6th goes straight to the group stage and 7th place goes to the qualifier. If Villa win the Cup then Villa go straight into the groups and 6th plays the qualifier.

Its actually quite complex - but it seems that 5th and 6th are garaunteed to go into it now, with it potentially reaching 7th if Arsenal win the cup.

Yes they will. As Kenai said, the change is that the runners up no longer get the FA Cup's spot if the winner has already qualified.
