It is given how he loves scoring against them

Big game Sunday though at Anfield, score draw for me

I can't make my mind up as to how we should or will line-up on Sunday. I think that against City we need an extra man in midfield to deal with Silva/Nasri/Aguero playing in between the midfield and defense but I can't see how we can leave out any of Kuyt, Maxi or Bellamy.

Just like with Chelsea, I can see Bellamy putting in a performance against City, Kuyt's a big game player and the work he does for the team is usually invaluable, and I'm a big Maxi fan and think he works incredibly well with Suarez (and Bellamy).

The brave option would be to keep the same 11 and to instruct Adam to sit more but that could be suicide. I think I'd be most comfortable with Henderson coming in for Kuyt; he looked to tire in the 2nd half against Chelsea (which imo cost us the goal). We'll probably end up going 4-4-2 with Downing and Henderson out wide and Carroll up front though :p

Can't bring yourself to thinking either side could win? :p

Well I'm hoping City drop points but I can't really see Liverpool pulling off two massive wins in a row so draw to me seems the best outcome. If I had to go for a winner I'd go with City.

I know you joked about playing Carroll but 3 goals (IIRC) against them last season he might not actually be a bad option for this game.

If he got 1 for Newcastle agains them then yea, he got 3. When we played them last season they didn't have Aguero or Nasri and Silva didn't start. I'd be surprised if at least 2 of those don't start against us on Sunday and with them playing, we'll need to set-up differently against them.

Playing Carroll would mean either playing a 2 man central midfield, which would leave Lucas and Adam with a lot of work, or moving Suarez into one of the wider forward positions, which imo is a waste of his talents.

honestly I don't see any formation from us that can silence Man city neither do i see any line up that can be up to the challenge.

The only thing we need to do if we are to get anything is doing it our way where every body puts in 120% effort for the entire game.

Man City has been losing in the CL so i think if we approach them with confidence then we can also win them. The problem is most teams have been giving them to much respect hence making it easy for them.

As long as they are away from home we can punish them if we play at our level best.

I'm honestly worried about Bellamy. When he wants to play against you, he can play, like, really really play. The rest of your team could pootle about at 80%, he'd make up the 20% missing from everyone and then some :p

That said last seasons performance at Anfield was terrible, and I think it was largely due in part to the FA Cup semi final coming straight after, so I would hope we at least can't do any worse. We just didn't look like we wanted to get stuck in, which is suicide playing Liverpool at home, they'll always be up for it against the top 4-5. I would be more than happy with a well fought draw coming off the back of a trip to Napoli, we can't win them all, and Liverpool away is somewhere you can take no shame in giving up the 2 points. Although if we draw or heaven forbid lose, we'll have a week of press about how we're falling apart, the Sheihk is considering leaving, we should bring Tevez back 'cos he's just who we're missing, etc etc.

I hate to say it but I think Liverpool can win on Sunday, but the thing to note is that if the players thought it was a tough challange winning at the Bridge, to win at home vs City will need twice the effort from everybody, even one weak link on the day and you will come a cropper.

Even the ACN in Jan may not be enough to stop City if they dont start dropping a few points soon, saying that of course Utd, Spurs and the following group need to keep on winning for it to make any difference in the first place (Utd havent exactly got an easy game this weekend either, given how well Newcastle are doing)

Bouncing back with a win this weekend. Aguero/Richards/Clichy all out to prove a point.

As much as many would like to think I don't think the CL will affect us, if anything it will be motivation.

2-0 with Aguero and Dzeko scoring.

City fan with optimism...

Internet just broke.

Would like to see the same spurs 11 turn up again but away from home it will be tricky, sort of game id like to see sandro get 20-30 mins.....BUT WHO TO TAKE OFF?!

Unless we sub VDV for sandro and push Luka forward?

Also Europa for spurs next week want to see corluka, krank, rose and sandro play in that.

3 points please spurs!

VDV and defoe doubtful. be good to see how we adapt. i don't think pav can play with adebayor so i would push modric forward into VDV's role and bring in sandro.
