Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [25th - 29th November 2011]

If we play like we have been doing recently, today is going to be tough. :(

I hope Berbatov starts again, preferably with Rooney.

If I was in Liverpool's shoes I would come out all guns blazing against MC, hit them with shock and awe, get the crowd going, pressure the ball (Kuyt would be ideal for this) and play at high tempo. MC have players with the skill to cope with that but if Liverpool can grab an early goal it will really put them in the ascendency. I think if Liverpool don't score before halftime they could be in trouble.

That's pretty much what I think they'll do. Press the home advantage early, get a goal to settle the crowd and build on it. If we can weather the initial storm we've shown we like to score goals in the second half of games. I did read that we only had 1 single win in our last 22 trips to Anfield though, which is pretty ridiculous.

That won't work.
Siliva Will unlock the narrowness with easy.
The trick is what they have said above. Go at them in the first half and overwhelm them
Our 1st halves have been decent but our 2nd halves have been below average and yet City is good at 2nd halves

I see us throwing away our 1st half lead before city score 2 more goals in the last minutes to make the score line ridiculous.
Other wise we should take the game beyond them by end of 1st half so that we frustrate them in the second half until they get a red card

Whilst Silva has shown an incredibly ability to unlock defences, he, and pretty much everyone else has still struggled if a team is insistent on defending deep and central, we usually rely more on a good long shot or similar to put us on top, then the other team has nothing to defend. Put too many players in the middle and we'll have to rely on Micah and Clichy getting round the back of you rather than Silva putting it through, or a Balotelli special. Honestly just put Bellamy and Suarez up front one on one with Kompany and Lescott, give the ball to either of them and let them run at the keeper. With their pace and ability to beat a man, I'd put Suarez/Bellamy down to beat Komps/Lescott 9 times out of 10.

I reckon Liverpool will get at least a point today. They've been playing well against the big sides (apart from Spurs :p).

lol, actually great work down the right there, back heel, and complete airshot by Formica.

I'd be surprised if Blackburn stay up, why would they give Kean a new contract, unless it has a smaller payout in the case they were going to fire him, or some clause they can enact to fire him without paying him off. In which case why would Kean sign it, 5-10k more a week, for a whole week before they fire him? Whole thing is odd, Blackburn are so poor.
