He just doesn't. His subs were pathetic today. Yougn and Hernandez were both appalling but he made no attempt to change it
His 'master' subs were a striker 4 minutes from time then Smalling with -18 seconds to go!!
We're just trying the same thing every flipping league match and it's not working. Benfica we got a poor result but we played much better, why didn't we try that again? He drops plays completely at random with no basis on performance at all. He clearly had no confidence in Macheda or he would have stuck him on earlier.
I want to see Berba start and chico used as a suber sub. Not really impressed with Chico as much as I thought I would be. He really is one dimensional when it comes to football. He only has one trick in his bag and thats goal poaching... Well maybe his speed and headers too. Not exactly the next coming of Ole.
Berba is class, why the hell isn't Fergie using him?

We completely dominated the second half, it could have been 4 or 5-1.

So if we were creating so many chances that we couldn't finish, why didn't he try a different player like Macheda or Valencia?
Newcastle were pretty **** today but we've dropped points. We've corrected last seasons crappy away form by being completely toothless at home.

So why was he on the bench then? I just don't believe Berbatov is injured, I've seen no reports of that. Berbatov could have scored 6 against Benfica and I bet he still wouldn't have played today.

Newcastle shut up shop and just crowded the box, it was ovbious when Alan took off Ben Afra, they just wanted a point.
If Man City beat Liverpool tomorrow, its going to be extremely tough to catch up.
I'm a bit torn on tomorrow's game as a Spurs fan. One side of me thinks "yeah liverpool winning might give us more of a chance of catching up with the top of the league" but then the other side of me thinks "but whats the odds of us winning the league compared to us getting a champions league place, maybe it's better for us if city win". You can see the dilemma in my mind.

I just can't see us catching City, they don't look like dropping points in easy games like we do. Every game is a massive test for us at the moment and we're just not at all up to it. There's no lineup consistency in any area of the field, partially due to injuries, partially due to Fergie tinkering.
Of course Berbatov is injured. You honestly think we'd leave him off the bench after a goal in midweek in favour of a reserve team striker with no football in 3 months if he was fit?
It's not Fergie that hasn't got a clue mate

So why didn't he mention it in the press conference when he said Anderson was injured? Was Fletcher injured as well? I don't know how you can possibly say Fergie's subs were anything other than pure crap tonight, Why didn't he try Valencia?
We've had 7 limp performances in a row now since the City thrashing, that's a long time to not get some sort of reaction.

Spot on. I'd like to have seen Smalling on for Fabio earlier but other than that it was hard to fault Fergie's tactics today because he's not culpable for individual errors and Krul's good performance.
Bookies are already taking odds on how long Fergie's upcoming ban will be

What was impressive for me was that we won that game without VdV and Modders, out two most creative players even though we have notoriously always struggled away to the baggies.
Apart from a very lucky deflection which lead to a very soft goal, what other chances did Man U put away (apart from one off-side).
They had 11 corners and 23 shots on goal (according to the BBC website) but couldn't finish the game off.
As far as I'm concerned that alone indicated we deserved the point.
The players train after his pre match press conference, maybe he got injured yesterday? Maybe he caught Fletcher's lurgies and fell ill over night who knows. One thing is for sure though had he been available he'd of been on the bench.
As for the poor performances as long as the team is wining I couldn't care less, you don't get more points for winning with flair and you certainly don't win anything in December. Let City have their moment now and bitch come May if needs be but we were unlucky against Benfica and it sounds like we were unlucky today
