Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [25th - 29th November 2011]

I never in the slightest insinuated that Lampard was anything but simple class. When they dropped Lampard from the 1st team Torres came alive as Meirles and Mata play exceptionally fast balls into torres feet. Lampard doesn't play fast balls, he likes the extra touch to allow him to look up for shots etc.

Personally i would love to see Torres and Sturridge play more but there seems to be some hostility between the pair. Neither would willingly pass the ball to the other today and something similar happened last week. Sturridge is looking great but his passing is horrendous at times. He missed quite a few simple passes today though its likely lack of experience.

People in these pages do constantly try to fit posts to their own opinions.

Yeah, cardiff doing well.

Tbh expected nothing for forest yesterday, different under billy d, then we went with hope.

Cardiff will be right up there, your manager was well underated at watford, and he took that mucker don cowie with him... decent player for you guys when he's fully settled in.

Cardiff/Swansea resuming battle in the prem huh:)

I don't know what Maxi has to do to get two games in a row. Was awesome in the Carling Cup and got dropped until the Chelsea game. Was awesome in the Chelsea game and gets dropped yet again. Even more annoying given how little Downing and Henderson have done to justify their apparent first team statuses.

Edit: Not officially confirmed Tom but from an ITK who never appears to be wrong so as good as official.

I have no problem with Henderson coming back into the side today. Against City we need an extra man in midfield and whether it's a 4-3-3 or some sort of 4-4-2, Henderson will tuck in and give us another man in there.

I'd like to think Bellamy would have started ahead of Downing today but with him pulling out we've gone for Downing ahead of Maxi to keep some pace in the side. I do get the feeling that the club wouldn't mind if Maxi left though; an ageing player on big wages isn't the fsg way.

We were supposed to hammer you in midfield last time we played at Anfield though. Was one of the poorest efforts of the whole season, you battled harder, played better than won 3-0.

Still think we're looking at our first league loss this season. We just don't play well at Anfield.
 
Interesting Milner is starting, he ran himself ragged against Napoli. Reasonably conservative line up though.. Would rather Aguero had a partner to play alongside :(
