Not that it has any relevance to the point I made, but to address your remark he is only on a 1 year lay off so not too difficult to dispense with.
He's not worth that now - as said, £8-10m would be perhaps a realistic fee.
However, he WAS worth the £24m to us, simply as his goals after he arrived in January kept us up - he scored 9 in the last 16 games and literally single handedly fired us to safety.
A good, proven, penalty box goalscorer - has scored 52 in his last 111 EPL games for both Villa and Sunderland. Will do a job somewhere - perhaps Fulham, West Ham...
