Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [27th - 28th August 2011]

I really hope you aren't putting our five goals down to 'pretty poor' defending. It was down to City being unstoppable. It was so one sided in parts it was like playing fifa against a 5 year old.

Next 5 games against Wigan, Fulham, Everton, Blackburn, Villa. Then the Derby.

Except Evertons cup final against us I can't see us dropping points until the middle of October

last time i checked city were 2-0 up, what has changed in dzeko this season?

He's actually playing? Its almost hilarious how teams will buy a new player, but never give them a real run and never seen them "in form" and decide they are crap based on sporadic games and short sub appearances. Also helped by the fact City are actually focusing on attack this season rather than defence.

As for Arsenals side, I said we could be without Verm, and had no idea who we'd end up with in central mid, Coquelin, laughable, thats where we've been left. Two rubbish DM's who are absolutely prone to yellow's and red's and being suspended, a team of sicknotes, and no where near enough quality and this is the utter tripe team we can put out.

Spurs got a bit embarassed in scoreline, but by a very good team. I think theres a real chance the Spurs scoreline will be something Arsenal fans could only hope for in the next couple hours :(

Don't you support Arsenal...

City look great but so they should.

Chelsea looked great last september and the league was apparently over then.

I refuse to accept that all these expensive players can spend a year together and accept not playing etc.

City today looked great today but how long will Balotelli and Tevez sit on the sidelines and clap?

To be fair to Arsenal, they do still have Walcott, RVP and Arshavin up front, so it's hardly going to be a walk in the park, though if I was an Arsenal fan I'd be very concerned with that defence against our attacking ability.

You do realise RVP is a horrible lone striker who in games where our midfield is poor, spends more time in the center circle than the opposition box. Walcott....... is just plain crap, and Arshavin's last game was so inept that I assume its more to do with being just "done" with Arsenal and not caring anymore than really being that bad.

Arshavin is brilliant at one-two's, general interplay, but without someone in midfield and RVP staying upfront, his game simply doesn't "work" because.

Two of those three are actually fantastic players, 3 of those 3 simply don't play well in this formation with that central midfield, let alone against one of the best two teams in the league.

How much worse would the team on the pitch play, if those two stop clapping? Answer, not very differently.

The long term issue for a Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs is having a 200-250k a week player on the bench upset, means 10mil+ a season being wasted and none of them can afford it. City can afford to send Tevez to Argentina and still pay him every week if Tevez gets troublesome at training...... its not an issue.

Get in :D

7 points from the first 3 games :D

I wouldn't have been unhappy with 3 points from the first 3 matches never mind 7 :D if we can beat QPR and get 10 points that would be unreal!

All of the pundits writing us off because "we've lost the passion" losing Nolan and Barton, quality>>>passion and Cabaye, Obertan, Marveaux and Gosling look much better. A new LB (who should be in by Tuesday) and Striker and we can do well this year (barring the incoming spankings off City and United which most teams will get this year)

Tevez and Balotelli won't sit on the sidelines and clap. Especially when europe kicks in.

As Bobby Manc said before the game we are in four competitions this season, which realistically should be over 50 / 60 games.

Chelsea and United both have bigger squads than City (Players in the 25 who are likely to play) We have less cover in defence and midfield than we would probably like. This isn't obvious to non City fans as it's hidden by players such as yaya, Zabaleta, Milner and Barry who can all play multple positions
