Not a great half but only a fantastic save from Gomes and the bar have stopped that being 1-0 rather than 3-0. Lucas on a yellow is a worry for the second half as is Lovren's form but we can't afford to let this lead slip.

That was a regulation save. Would have been pretty poor keeping to have conceded it. Decent height, ball started central before drifting away.

Agree on the money front but winning plays a part as well imo

Most of the squad are young and have signed long term deals this year. Maybe if players like Dele and Kane were 3-4 years older I would worry a little, but they've both signed 5 year contacts this season.

The only doubt is some murmurs about Walker not being happy about being rested (which is probably a load of tabloid fluff) an Alderweireld stalling on a new contact but he's still in contract until 2020.

Officials have been dire. Watford have kicked lumps out of us and they've caught out our backline a number of times and been given offside.

Hat's off to Can, he was superb tonight as was Lallana. Origi did a good job holding the ball up, Lucas snuffed out most things in front of defence and Mignolet looks weirdly solid in the air. Must win game and we won it

Subs at the end could've cost us again, bringing on Sturridge and Klavan when we needed to keep possession of the ball and be solid at the back wasn't ideal imo.

Thought we were going to copy Utd from yesterday. Poor first half, score on the break and then take control in the 2nd half only to throw it away right at the end. Stunning strike from Can and credit to Mignolet - I know he had to remind us that we need to be scared whenever he's on the pitch with that shot at the end but he dominated his area as well as I can ever remember from him, even with Deeney fouling him at every opportunity.
