Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [28th April - 1st May 2017]

Not looking forward to the game at all, Watford have nothing to play for now they're comfortable and we have everything to play for. Huge amount of pressure on the team to perform and they've not really shown they can cope with it so far.

Having Lallana back is good though even if he plays small part will make our Bench better.

Either option is a failure for me:p. But right now, the position we are in...I'd take the FA cup because at least it's a trophy if anything. But against Chelsea?? Can't see us winning it unless a miracle happens lol.

What I really want is for us to win the pl title and for once properly compete in the Cl. None of those look like happening anytime soon with Wenger and the current board in charge at the moment.

I'll be honest, last season broke me. The fact that we let Leicester win the title when it was our best chance by far to win the PL title. Main reason why this season I really couldn't give a flying fig about this season because it's just the same ole **** but different season.

Yea, agreed pretty much. I'm really hoping we can do something like Atleti did if we can use a season in the Europa League to help discover some confidence and character. Chances of happening are slim but for some reason thats what im hoping for.

Really don't see the point in the Europa League tbh, the fans want a league title above anything i reckon.

Yeah for sure, league above all else, but atleast with the Europa league we will still be in europe and hopefully get some confidence from it. I also thought it was pointless but look what its done for the likes of Atleti, Sevilla etc.

Spurs becoming a super club? That takes years and trophies. A couple of years doing well in the league is only thing Spurs have done. Besides they'll get raped by the real super clubs coming in for their best players.

The new TV deal has meant that to buy a player that a top 5 or 6 PL side doesn't want to sell is almost impossible. The biggest problem to Spurs is how do they build on this over the next few seasons? Even after the stadium is completed they'll still be a long way behind the very richest clubs but what sort of money will be made available to the manager while the work is going on? Playing a season at Wembley isn't going to be easy either - not only isn't it really home to Spurs but for any away team it becomes an even bigger occasion. For a lot of clubs and players it will be their first and maybe only time to play at Wembley. If Spurs don't have the greatest season next season and money is tight for Pochettino then they'll face a huge challenge keeping him which, imo, would be a far bigger loss than any player. We saw that he had no problem jumping ship from Southampton as soon as it became clear he couldn't take them any further forwards and Spurs came calling - if progress at Spurs stalls and PSG, Barca, Real or Bayern come knocking, it's difficult to see him staying.

Liverpool: Mignolet, Clyne, Matip, Lovren, Milner, Lucas, Wijnaldum, Can, Coutinho, Firmino, Origi. Subs: Karius, Moreno, Grujic, Sturridge, Alexander-Arnold, Lallana, Klavan.

Team as expected. :)

Weird sub. He's the best player we've got on the bench but Lallana obviously isn't fit enough and he'll be playing in the front three where he's been completely ineffective all season.
