Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [28th April - 2nd May 2012]

Let's pretend he didn't play because if he did, with his pace, Shawcross would have desperately flung himself into a leg-breaker tackle and he'd be out for a year.

LOL yep i guess small mercies and all that:p. But really Wenger should start playing more than Gervinho...i havent seen anything of Gervinho recently that makes me think hes going to be a smashing player....who knows maybe next yr he will improve but id rather see young Ox play as that kid has talent oozing out of him.

Well we've got our work cut out for us; Chelsea, City and an in-form Everton.

It helps that Arsenal have dropped points again but I don't think it will be enough. I imagine we'll get 5th now.

If we get a point out of the next three games I'll be happy!

Also, well done Cheets — see you next season. :)

As I said earlier we cant win every game, wigan were the better team today and deserved their win,but remember we have far exceeded this seasons expectations and are in Europe and no one can take that away from us.

Are you sure about that? Surely if Newcastle end up finishing 6th you get nothing?

Can anyone shed light on what positions get you Europe this season.

AFAIK
Top 4 Champ Lge
Carling Cup - Europa (Liverpool)
FA Cup - Europa (Liverpool/Chelsea)
5th Place - Europa.

Is that right?

thanks wigan

my my it's awfully quite from the newcastle 'fans' we saw last week after that

hope spurs can claim 4th tmw :D

Lol coming from the Spurs "fan" who went MIA during your bad period thats pretty sweet :p

Though as me, Purdy, Panzer and a few others were saying last week the fair weather fans (like you cm) regardless of the club will come and go based on a teams fortune.

Was at the Southampton game today, great atmosphere and being next to the away fans was awesome!

Its quite amazing that scene really. On one hand, you have a set of fans who are overjoyed to be going up a league.

On the other hand, you have the die hard away fans who are gutted to be going down a league.

Yea at the start they were giving a bit of lip but after the first 2 goals they changed to being complementary and cheering the Saint's goals :D Good bunch of guys tbh, gotta feel sorry for them - 1 win in all their away games this season
