Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [28th April - 2nd May 2012]

Rubbish match and ManU got what they deserved with performance, nothing.

Bit gutted though because we will probably be spanked on Sundsy now though :p oh well Europa league and top 6 is an unreal achievement!

reminds me of.

Lol :D

Fair play to City they deserved it more tonight and probably over the course of the season if the table ends up the way it is standing.

At times we have ground out results where results should not have come from.

If they win it will be a bitter pill to swallow but in the long run games like this will serve the likes of Jones, Smalling, Young and Wellbeck well. They looked edgy and nervous, this time in twelve months if they are making the same mistakes, they are at the wrong club.

Player for Player City are probably the stronger. You can get in the why's and wherefore's of Balotelli & Tevez after the Fat Lady has sung

What a joke... there were pretty much seldom stoppages and only 1 injury and that was Hart's minor one after the 5 minutes were put up. More evidence that officials favour United!

You are the joke. The referee is inclined to add 30 seconds for every substitution, of which there were 6 in the second half.

should've gone for attack instead, the advantage is with them, why not just go for it?
Great. Play Giggs, Park & Jones in midfield, it hasn't worked at all this season. For **** sake. Absolute **** take.
i think that team means we have lost.
Well I had some hope that we might get something out of this game but I would put money on us getting well beaten now. When do we get soundly beaten this year? When we get under the kosh in the midfield so I do love it when we have park in the midfield who is not great in the tackle and cannot pass or hold onto the ball. Giggs has been pretty poor lately as well. Great squad selection fergie. I honestly can't see the point of winning the league unless you try and beat your immediate rivals. Trying to scrape a draw is pretty shameful.
Not the team I hoped for in all honesty
No Ashley Young or Valencia on the wing for United? Thought United would try to push down the wings and try to test the City full backs, I'm guessing not...
This is either a tactical master-stroke to lull them into a false sense of security or my worst nightmare.

You can tell Fergie has got it all wrong when it's that easy to predict what will happen before the game even kicks off.

We didn't deserve to win that game, well done City.
If it's equal on points it goes to GD before head to head right? No problem we will just spank Swansea and Sunderland 7-0 each. :p

actually I won't make a call on this I will refer it

Please do.

I made sure that I was not personally insulting to you nor was I trolling you. If you see that I have infringed any of the forum rules then please let me know

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Sunderland at least muster a draw in the next game. I also wouldn't be surprised if City bottled it at least once in their two remaining games. What a season.

city deserved the win.

fergie tried to play to their football instead of playing our own.

if were going to lose, atleast do it fighting for the win.

Pathetic in all honesty, Fergie put out such a gutless weak defensive team he should be ashamed.

What have I said about Rooney "the striker", despite being the only striker for much of the game he had zero intention of playing against the back four, Aguero showed himself for long balls, balls into the channel, dropping deep to pick it up, anything. Rooney sat deep, wanted the ball and did nothing with it mostly. Yes he didn't have help but if he stood 20 yards further forward, so would Nani, and Park, etc, etc. Scholes didn't play well but there was such little/awful movement he just had no one to actually pass too.

Park, just no, Fergie really should be ashamed of that team.

While City dominated, I didn't think they were particularly good, Silva/Nasri did very very very little, Silva in particular was incredibly rarely involved in their counter attacking play which was the bulk of their really threatening play. Toure was immense in the first half, shattered in the second and it was the absolute disappearance in midfield that let Utd have a lot more posession a lot higher up the field, however Utd still couldn't do anything with it.

Toure should have been subbed for De Jong, he put in the odd burst going forward but still looked shattered, even the finish looked untidy in terms of body position, he was just too tired madness to keep him on.

City could have gone ahead and won that by a bigger margin much much more easily than they did. Clichy was awesome once again, anyone that pretends Arsenal don't miss him or he isn't one of the best LB's in the league is kidding themselves.

lol at blaming the lost on Glazers now, fickle fans

I never blamed the loss on the glazer. I said hopefully the glazers will give united some money to overhaul the squad in the summer.

Dont matter how good yer players are if they have no passion (the reason lost the city match). United lost the match because they had no passion to win it.

Shocking all over, poor team selection (Park & Giggs), poor performances from our better attacking players (Rooney & Nani), City just wanted it more and we couldn't live with the likes of Toure and Tevez (Clichy was fantastic MOTM for me).

2 league games against City and they've beat us twice, things need to be addressed so the same doesn't happen next season, priority now is to make sure when they take the title they do it on GD and not points.

Quinn was awful! :p

Yep
