Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [28th November - 3rd December 2014]

I can't be arsed to argue what counts a luck... I hope Ander hasn't picked up another injury. Really is nice to see some pace in our attacks over the last few games, especially compared to last year!

Some wise signings in the summer and we could/should be up there in the mix again next season.

Di Maria is often in the limelight but Ander is quality IMO!

It's not luck for the keeper to make a good save or a defender to clear a shot.

Young isnt really a defender, despite where he is being played ( he is barely a player lol)

Utd without doubt pushed their luck - against a better quality team ( remember where stoke are currently) Utd would have drawn or even lost that game

Given that Valencia is also toss, I'm not sure how anyone can say anything other than it was a good performance. We had two defenders on the pitch.

....no one then?

It's a play on the people who think Rooney is average. Some of the people on this forum seem to think the step down from someone being world class is average. That was the direction the De Gea comments were heading so I was just getting to the point :p

I'm not sure what was more embarrassing, our performance or Lee Mason's. I think the only correct decision Mason got right was the red, everything else from countless corners not being given to Sterling being fouled 99 times (not sure what Sterling done to **** him off) to such an easy penalty decision he got totally wrong.

Despite winning 3-1, we were terrible. I can't remember a game where we gave the ball away so often. A midfield pairing of Lucas and Henderson is the stuff of nightmares. Henderson can't get into the game in a 2 man central midfield (he was 10 times better on the right when Allen came on) and after a semi decent performance at the weekend, Lucas was abysmal today. Mignolet looks shot to bits - he was never the best with his feet but it's beyond a joke now, he just gives the ball away each and every time he kicks it.

The only positives from today, other than the 3 points, were Sterling looking lively again and Henderson & Gerrard managing to chip in with a goal each.

Only watched the second half but I thought Lucas had another good game and Gerrard looked much better in an attacking role. Hopefully the year long experiment is over and he'll be played further forward and managed far better from now on.

Really? Lucas and Henderson gave us nothing in midfield. We had no control to our game from the first whistle to the last. Even after the red there was no improvement, it was worse if anything and if you didn't know otherwise you'd have thought we were the ones down to 10 men. Lucas's defensive work for their goal (just like vs Stoke when Bojan hit the post) was non existent and in the 2nd half it was like watching Lucas of 2007 giving away free-kick after free-kick.

Once they went down to 10 men we needed our midfield to take control of the game but they couldn't. It was embarrassing to watch. I know you don't rate him but Allen gives us some control in midfield and he should have come on long before he did.

Lucas was a shout for our best player on the pitch again, no surprise 2 games started in the league and 2 won. Henderson with another goal aswell, its almost as if he doesnt have babysit someone and can get into goal scoring positions isnt it.

another 3 points though, I'll take that every game
