Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th December 2012 - 2nd January 2013]

I am so glad I swapped suarez for torres as my captain in FF!

I have no idea why I have any faith in torres, I think about taking him out every week, but never do... This week I thought a home tie with QPR would be a banker!

It's a point worth making, even when he scores you can see there's still not really much self belief. He's just done at the highest level, wants putting out of his misery :p

does your nappy need changing or something?

How very grown up of you. 30 years old going on 3 :o

The problem is that every week he will do something, that might make me think he might have turned a corner, but I think the final straw has come now.

Btw, I meant I had suarez as cpt last week, but gave it to torres this week:o... I made the mistake of instead of backing Liverpool, backing against the QPR defense!

I might get Ba in, but not sure of his role at Chelsea yet really.

Liverpool looked excellent against Sunderland and the Suarez pass for Sterling was exceptional to the point where I actually think it is one of the best things he has done in the PL.

Ignoring why Sunderland were so shockingly poor defensively, Liverpool looked so much more fluid than usual and Henderson actually looked competent for once.

Replacing Downing with someone good and dealing with the fairly unavoidable loss of Gerrard will be key to progression.

All this is caveated by this being judged on MOTD highlights.

We looked good and I was especially pleased with Henderson but until that becomes the norm, we simply battered a crap team when we clearly can play well above their level, there's a lot more to it than replacing Downing and Gerrard when the time comes, that team still has a shocking mentality as a group.

Regardless if we were playing manu, we would lose the next game or at least draw.

Ouch that loss to QPR must have really hurt Chelsea, thought i was seeing things when i saw the final score. I expected Chelsea to batter them to high hell and back:p.

Spurs game had something I'd never seen before, 15 corners without reply in the first 42mins. I'd be very surprised if that's been bettered in any Premiership game, they did let Reading have one just before halftime though which kinda fluffed the stat :(

Google is kinda failing me other than an assertation that Everton once had 25 in a match which is unlikely to compete with Spurs blitzkrieg.
