Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th December 2017 - 4th January 2018]

An educated guess, lowering prices considerably for a EPL game would devalue the brand ? As I say an educated guess. Whats the attendance out of interest ? 55K?
I can understand why they've not cut prices in one respect and I don't think it's because it devalues the brand but more to do with the issues when they move to their new ground. Prices were already going to increase from the old WHL prices so if they cut them for a season, the increase would appear even greater. Giving out free tickets to schools isn't going to do any harm though - a full stadium is better for the brand than an half empty stadium. It will also help them grow their fan base moving forwards.

Re the comments about it being a school night, fair enough but I don't just mean primary school kids. I'm sure there's plenty of 14, 15, 16 year olds that could have gone. I used to regularly take the afternoon off school and not get home until the early hours of the morning to go watch Liverpool play midweek.

So the game finishes at about 10. And Spurs as a club are giving away tickets to schools on a school night. That's not going to end well for the club...

I don't think it's a big issue but even so, this is just one game. My point was general across the whole season - have Spurs sold out once yet? I know they didn't sell out the Liverpool game because I saw reports that they were having to put things in place to stop Liverpool fans buying up tickets in the home end.

Have kids gone back to School yet anyway? I know my nephews haven't.

more tickets sold = more security, transport planning and health and safety etc plus this is televised so probably overall wasn't viable considering it's a thursday night. wasn't the liverpool game the highest attendance for a pl game?

Probably as it was our fans buying up the home tickets like I said :p

And there wouldn't have been a significant difference in cost to Spurs whether there were 50k or 85k there today.

If your point is re the whole season then fair enough.

My point is can you imagine the media jumpling on this tonight if the stadium had a load of kids present. Really not a good idea all round!

For just one game possibly, but this is back to school week for the majority though right :) *pre post edit* my kids are primary school age - maybe it's different for the older ones?

Anyways, back to the "game" ;)

As far as entertainment is concerned this game desperately needs a Spurs goal, West Ham might actually have to push to get a shot away.

Ah yes, the classic one rule in the penalty area compared to anywhere else on the pitch job.

lol, that's some strike. 1 shot, 1 goal.
