Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th December 2017 - 4th January 2018]

You don't have to go out all guns blazing to at least attempt to play the game. It's a long time since i've seen a team play as negatively as this today, plus the time wasting and cheating.

They were never going to come out & play. They came out to get a point at the very least. Ok that might not be very entertaining but they had a plan & they stuck to it.

To the point of no team who finishes 0 - 0 gets a point, What if the game was freeflowing & entertaining but both keepers had a hell of a game, They don't deserve it?

Thats a foul by Aurier in the lead up to the goal...

Yes it was Agent Dean to the rescue though.

It would completely stop these Pullis'esque tactics of 11 men behind the ball and the constant cheating. I'm tired of watching this sort of negative football, it's not remotely entertaining and a waste of time. I can't recall who they played but it was Adrian and West Ham again, he was time wasting in the third minute of the game. That's not for me.

I appreciate it would mean some games would end up 0-0 when both teams went for it but i'd suggest they'd be an exception to the norm.

Much like Agent Dean to the rescue for West Ham for the clear and blatant penalty on Dele....

Would the viewpoint stay the same if for example;

Spurs needed 1 point to win the league, they drew the game but they get no points so they don't win the league?

Something tells me that tune would change immediately.

I don't really like negative football but I can see why teams play that way. Especially when you have so much money riding on staying in the league & 1 point could be the difference between staying in & being relegated.

You missed the goal of the season then ?

Dont get me wrong, i think its a pen on Alli but then i think Aurier is very very lucky for his challenge that led to your goal.

'Your goal'? I'm not a Spurs fan.

The game is supposed to be played to win, I play the game to win, I like to watch teams at least try and win the game. Having a single shot on target in 70 minutes and constantly lumping it up to no one isn't my idea of 90 minutes well spent. I'd love to see the stats for how long the ball was actually in play in that game, the time wasting was disgusting.
