Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th March - 1st April 2013]

You can blame Redknapp all the way home really, only a bad workman blames his tools and he just hasn't done enough/anything to keep them up.

He's bought in a few average players to try and make up for the dross at the club, he hasn't improved the style or even addressed the basic problems of the team being unable to do the basics of football. He has facilitated in the utter financial ruin of QPR though which will be interesting to watch.

The media on him when they end up going down will be entertaining to watch too!

The first sentence is nothing short of ridiculous. A manager can only do so much if he's got a **** squad. You could put Guardiola in charge of this squad and they'd still be ****.

He took over a side that hadn't even won a game and he's had the January transfer window to try to address the mess QPR found themselves in. He's far from perfect and has to take some accountability but the lions share of the blame should lay with the owners who set QPR on this road when they sacked Warnock (even though he is a ****), appointed Hughes and allowed him to spend a fortune on **** all.

As I said, I don't get the Samba signing and QPR are still a mess but they're less of a mess now than they were when he took over.

The problem with QPR is they don't win, I've seen them play some good football this season but still get nothing from the game. I've also seen them give away so many poor goals, they basically shoot them selves in the foot lol

Worrying state of affairs where that Sidwell tackle is a red card. The way I interpreted it was, he overran the ball when beating the previous man, and then had to charge in to the tackle like, well, every player who has overrun the ball the past 25 years. He couldn't pull out of that for risk of injuring himself or facing the wrath of the home crowd for bottling it.

Yes, it meant he went in late and took out Traore, he deserved a yellow card but to end up with a 3 match ban for what was a standard challenge in that sort of situation is quite sad. His feet weren't massively high off the ground or anything like that.

1948, seriously I don't know. I did love that penalty though, not the actual shot though it was fine and he sent the keeper the wrong way, it was his, meh I'm doing something to my foot, completely relaxed, not a care in the world thing, whistle went, took the penalty, no fuss, bang, sorted.

Entertaining game but a bit too much of West Ham syndrome as I like to call it, West Ham the last time they went down consistently did this thing where they'd be the better team in the first half and not score, or take a lead, then either way they'd completely stop playing, stop getting forward, passing backwards and end up losing. Villa did that against Liverpool the other day, and Fulham last night, utterly dominated QPR then almost everyone but Berbatov completely gave up playing football.

Sidwell's was never a red, neither leg locked out, both bent, low, no massive lunge, just a very unlucky challenge, certainly worth a yellow and I wasn't even sure if he was already on a yellow, never a straight red.

Emanuelson, wow, how god awful a player can you be having played for Ajax and Milan, he basically made the wrong decision every single time possible, miskicked it, weak as hell on the ball, showed zero pace and no effort to close people down or do anything....

Not sure what Jol was up to, he needed to sub Emanuelson LONG before he did and probably Karagounis aswell as he was useless, again. HE flops over a lot, gives the ball away a lot, in some games shoots a lot and gets the odd goal, haven't seen him have a good game yet, the odd good minute.

What has happened to Frei, he looked really really promising last season yet seems to have disappeared, Emanuelson on instead of Frei, a sub unused despite that FUlham team being utter turd from 35-40mins onwards and desperately in need of legs and a change, Richardson available as well who could have played on the wing and helped more defensively. Frimpong came on and was instantly one of Fulhams best players on the pitch, actually winning the ball, holding on to it when tackled, pushing it forwards given the chance and marking the space well/closing players down well.

I can't believe Jol sat there, watched Emanuelson screw absolutely everything up, his team almost throw away the win and made no real changes till forced to with the red card.

I know Di Canio is a bit of a *** but all this garbage over his political views is stupid. If it was such a huge and important issue why wasn't it brought up during his time managing Swindon?

Pointless story is gutter press at its best, not that I like sticking up for anything Subderland but give the guy a break. Whilst his political views may not be particularly palatable it's not a crime to be a fascist so give it a blinking rest!

Especially since he's been writing an article for the bbc this season, pot calling the kettle black where they are concerned...
