Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th March - 3rd April 2019]

Even if that happens, you're still going to have that shameful feeling of being upset at winning the Derby. No matter how many times you wash you'll never shake that! Small team mentality is there forever.
Not at all mate lesser of the 2 evils

I was joking with all that but on a serious note, 'lesser of 2 evils' shouldn't apply when you've got something to play for yourself. Had you had nothing to play for then fair enough but to not want to win a game that could be the difference between 4th and 5th is madness.

I said I wanted to win the derby but wanted city to win league still and yes I know it was tongue In cheek :D

Segregation shouldn't be an issue in a brand new, purpose built stadium. You're never going to get 100% attendance, even if you do sell all the tickets. When you've got 60k odd supporters, you're always going to get a few hundred not turn up for various reasons - touts that didn't sell their tickets and general every day issues which cause people to have to change their plans. I'd guess that Spurs didn't shift all the match by match corporate tickets though which is fairly understandable given the lack of notice for the game.

That's some crazy logic! If they have to give tickets away to fill the stadium up then it wasn't a good idea to build the stadium.

It's simply the game wasn't particularly interesting - against the 13th in the table. Also, that is an opening ceremony - must be some type of gift for the fans - not the greedy owners to ruin everything.

Stadium was sold out ages ago. Some people didn't turn up that's all
3k people? I've just been searching a bit on twitter and there was supposedly entire rows of seats empty which would suggest my corporate theory.

For a £1bn stadium to be viable they need to sell out every week. Your whole idea is crazy. The empty seats have nothing to do with playing a lesser side, as above it's almost certainly down to not selling out all the corporate packages due to the lack of notice.

Any spurs fans at the stadium tonight ? Few friends are, they are sending some superb pictures

Got there quite early but to be honest it was a bit underwhelming and the opening ceremony was shabby. Maybe the mind wasn't on it after years worth of social media hype and the delays etc..

Overall though an enjoyable night but spoiled by the lack of investment in local transport as I had to wait 45 minutes at Northumberland station.

I was shocked by some empty seats. A block behind me was empty.
