Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2nd - 4th May 2015]

Ashley has indicated he'd be willing to sell for the right price and from the figures I've seen bandied about (£200-£300 million being the top end but I reckon he'd take half that) there's a lack of billionaires around willing to invest in EPL football.

I think when Pardew left, the fact they just stuck Carver in charge till the end of the season just gave off the message 'season over lads, we've got enough points job done'

Tbh the whole club just seems to lack any passion apart from the fans, Ashley only seems to care about the balance sheet and would be perfectly happy for them to finish 17th with 40 points every season to keep the TV money rolling in with as little outlay as possible.

Fair play they are not spending above their means and not going to financially implode chasing a dream but they're at the total other end of the spectrum!!

No way he will get anything like 200m. I thought he would really make Newcastle a force but he then change his tune and seemed to just bleed the club dry. When he took over Newcastle were a basket case, like we were when the ***** Daves took us over, but at least they are trying to invest and despite selling us out the Olympic Stadium they will rake it in. I can't see where Ashley is gonna get a buyer from.

How are the fans ever going to get Ashley out ?

I know the people behind AO. They're a good movement and are making decent inroads in a short space of time but at the end of the day it's down to him, and whether he'll ever get bored.

Of course the fans hold a ton of power when it comes down to tickets, merch etc but the majority of them seem content with sitting on their asses and accepting it. The best thing is when you see fans with this season's shirt calling for his head.

Yeah West Ham had same problem with Bond Scheme years ago but it worked when our crowds dropped to 11k at a couple of games.

Like you say its totally down to when Ashley bails. I still think he will asset strip if you go down and don't come up after a year.
