Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2nd - 4th May 2015]

Don't think Carver will be in charge for the next game LOL.

What makes you say that? He's ****ing lost it, mind. He even has Keown talking sense:

Former Arsenal centre-back Martin Keown on Final Score was not impressed with the Newcastle manager.

"When you're in a position like Newcastle are in, you have to stick together, but John Carver is digging players out. There was a lack of desire granted but he is out of his depth at the moment.

"It's not just about demanding the effort. He needs guidance on how to behave because he is taking players apart. Just don't say it. If he was an experienced head, a long-term manager, he wouldn't do that."

Sunderland failing to win would have been us safe, we should get a win from West Ham or Burnley anyway and Sunderland won't get more than 3 from their last 4 so I'm still confident we're safe.

How dare you.... we just thrashed ten man Burnley 1-0 including a penalty.

Carver knows he is cooked so trying to get the fans on his side. He may be 100% right but he will have totally lost that dressing room now, if he hadn't already.

He completely absolves himself of blame, the stuff like we got together and talked about it and all the players said they understood what was required of them... so it's the players fault for not doing it.

Yes, presuming you gave perfect instructions and ran great training sessions, but if your tactics and ideas were completely rubbish, the players understanding what you've asked of them doesn't make the players completely to blame.

Players and manager at fault, but considering the managers entire concept of winning appears to be if he had 11 local lads playing they'd win because attitude is all that matters.... I suspect Carver is as tactically inept and useless as he appears to be.

Also the question is, if he knows the players, knows they've lost 7 in a row and knows which players aren't playing 'hard' enough or showing the right type of attitude.... if his tactical and man management awareness is so brilliant how did the same players who didn't want to play start yet another match? if WIlliamson has been dire in the previous 7 losses and according to him maybe wanted to get sent off, how as a manager did he not see this bad attitude in the previous games and play anyone else in his position? Apparently Colback could play in there and be brilliant.

Yup he is totally out of his depth. I wasn't saying he was 100% right, but even if he was, he has lost that dressing room in one interview. I suspect he never had it though.

Ref has been budget but we have just been bang average. The only way this game might be slightly interesting is if United score fairly soon. Valencia being his completely awful self and West Brom defending so deep I'm surprised they can see the other goal.

Not quite that bad but we are against a team that have only one thing on their mind. A 0 - 0 draw.

Just think Everton are just a better team than WBA that makes the difference

Utd being at home this week should make for a better game from the home team - and it just isn't

edit - as Henry just said everything is going backwards (no dig at Mata, its everyone in Red)
