Typical derby game. Had we managed to get in at HT 1-0 up then the game would have opened up for us and the likes of Coutinho would have come into the game more. Can's clearance for their goal is such a common thing for us - I've never known a side to struggle to clear the ball out of the danger area as much as we do. It might not be pretty but we've got to put our foot through it sometimes and clear our lines.
As for Atkinson, you only get 2 extremes with refs in these games - they're either card happy or the complete opposite and go out of their way not to dish out cards. Lucas should have got a 2nd yellow and Barkley should have had 3.
