Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [3 - 5th November 2012]

What a shocking performance.

We had one decent move in the whole 95 minutes and we were lucky we got a goal from it.

It's amazing to think this is the same team that finished fifth last season.

 :(

Good game. Suarez was excellent all through....I feel sorry for Stewart Downing, once again lays it on a plate for someone who really should score, but he misses and in a few weeks time people will be laying in to him saying how he never gets assists.

I suppose you can't argue with the red card in today's game where everything is a card, but I would have been happier with a yellow in that situation.

What an odd set of results this weekend and WBA can go 5th tomorrow on merit if they beat Southampton, silly league.

And that in a nutshell is the very best and worst of Liverpool.

Same story for 18 months now. Our general play is decent but we lack a killer instinct and if Suarez doesn't score, we don't look like scoring.

I can't stand Sturridge and I'm not too keen on Walcott but they're exactly the type of players we need. At the moment Sterling can't be relied on for goals and as Adam said at HT, Suso's a midfielder playing wide rather than a natural wide forward. Too often when Suarez is pulling out wide, the other 2 of our front 3 are waiting on the edge of the box.

This. Even though he's not a good "footballer", Walcott would be perfect for us. Urgency, bags of pace, and scores goals. If we only sign one player in Jan, I'd take him happily.

Decent game but we were shocking :(

Still I would have taken a point pre kick off, stick with 433 like today and we'll turn it around. Personally I blame Pardew for today, winning at half time and playing better before the break. He clearly told us to hold on and we suffered for it, also Ferguson  brings nothing to a team.

As I say, good point :)

Charlie Adam's spot on. If we played exactly the same, but the entire team moved 20 yards forward, we'd be a much more dangerous team.

They're a good team now. RDM got them playing good attacking football at the expense of defending, Hodgson sorted out their defence at the expense of their attack and Clarke has got a fantastic balance of the two. Only thing stopping them pushing on and staying up there is squad depth.
