Di Maria will have license to get forward in attack.
 
Interesting midfield, Fletcher holding and I expect Di Maria and Mata will be expected to do their thing.

Excited, but debuts can always be difficult.
 
Lets be honest, we should be able to beat Burnley with pretty much any team we put out... said LvG before the MK Dons game

Yeah, I (think I) know what the formation is and how van Gaal is setting them up, but in terms of mentality and natural positions, this is the sort of system I see using the genius of FM:

Clearly players are much more flexible than this, but this how I view Man Utd's team as a mix of their natural positions and how they're lining up.

Januzaj could easily replace Young or Valencia in that lineup. He would offer a lot more going forwards and is just as bad defensively as them.

Or, and here is a crazy suggestion. Considering we don't have the players available, we could...try a different formation?

Which? We don't have the defenders available, bar youth. Nor CM, infact.

Plus, Adnan couldn't easily replace Young or Valencia in that line up, he isn't suited to a wing back position at all.
 
will be interesting to see where LVG puts ADM..

edit, ahh, he is starting in the middle/left

The biggest issue I have with Young and Valencia at WB is that if you accept that they will help out defensively, when they don't you are in big trouble. We have lost quite a few goals because the WBs are not doing their job.
 
I see LVG is still going with this 3 at the back. Why does he start Young at wingback, such a liability..

But you're implying that Valencia and Young are? This is the same argument I had last week when Franks said Kagawa can't play CM. Neither can Cleverley!

4-3-1-2 Would be far better with the players we currently have available.
