Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [30th Mar - 2nd April 2012]

Bendtner was again excellent and Larsson who has been a touch quiet for a while was brilliant again back to his best form. The 3 goals were all very good, and the second game in a row Bendtner put in a solid header into the corner, not saveable by the keeper..... something he did for Arsenal before and after we got Chamakh.... who we started to play instead of Bendtner hoping for some aerial ability, madness.

Shame they didn't get the win but they played like most teams against Man Utd in the past decade, get to 70mins in then just drop so deep, leave someone isolated upfront and stupidly never actually pass to that person and just invite the pressure on. Had they had the balls to push a few people forwards and press out from the back frankly with City pushing so hard they could have ended up in a City vs Utd situation, getting a couple more at the end.

Arsenal, lol, crap all over the pitch, defensively awful, Vermaelen was all over the place and could very easily have gotten a second yellow in the build up to the second goal and only the goal maybe saved him, and yeah, I'll say it, thats the first team to actually turn up since away to Milan, we got big headed again, didn't work hard, were lazy, reacting to everything rather than pressing and intercepting and lost to a fairly rubbish team who played well and worked very hard.

West Ham, total rubbish, concede two stupidly and quickly right before half time, in a game they basically had to not lose in and ended up conceding four.

Everybody its time to wack on BBC2 for today's live game of Blackpool vs Southampton :D

Blackpool have lost loan striker Roman Bednar to some horrible sounding knee injury, Southampton are without the leagues top scorer Ricky Lambert (Southampton's goal machine) after a pelvic injury that had him taken off at half time last weekend. Saints are also without Tadanari Lee :(

Blackpool is too far away to go for this game on TV

I've been impressed with Bendtner recently, he does a good job as the lone striker.

More so because that isn't even slightly his best role, he was always best at Arsenal with someone making runs ahead of him, getting a pass in from where ever, holding off a defender turning and finding a pass. He's not particularly fast but strong enough that he can turn a player and make a yard for himself and get a pass in like for the third goal.

But he's a very all around player, don't forget he played almost only from the right wing for Arsenal for a season and got goals, assists, held up the ball, tracked back more than Theo ever came close to, wins headers at defensive/offensive corners consistently, works incredibly hard and scores the odd cracker.

he's an excellent player just like Vela who by and large has just been given no run of games, and very little credit in the past 3 years. Both Vela and Bendtner have had consistent games this year and both have gone from meh to very very good. His best games were when Arsenal still played 4-4-2 now and then, him with Vela, Theo or even RVP infront of him and he is much better than as a lone striker.

"Should hit the target from there" WHAT?!?!?!

Keeper rushing out and lobbing him like that is pretty hard thing to do.... (unrealistic commentating)

Kelvin with a quality save from a butters mistake :D
