Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [31st August - 1st September 2019]

Guessing Mane rage quitting on the bench was a result of Salah :(

He doesnt need to be getting that wound up about it. Its 3-0, game is won, 3pts in the bag. With goal difference being largely irrelevant this season because of the new rule it doesnt even matter if its 3-0 or 4-0. Just chill out on the bench and be happy that its 3pts, no need for a temper tantrum.

What’s the new rule?

It wasn’t one instance tbf and Mane is very selfless, Salah does need to pass more as he’s actually exceptional at it

Tied teams who are challenging for position for something (ie, to win the title, or champions league qualification etc) , will now be decided by their head to head results, not by goal difference.

Actually, now that I read that rule more deeply, I see that the head to head is only used as a last resort after everything else, so I'm wrong really.

Yeah but goal difference still matters as that's only if everything is tied

"Head-to-head records will be used as a decideer in the 2019/20 season if sides end level on points, goal difference and number of goals scored."

Yeah I realised that and edited my post just as you were writing this one :D

Nice to get a comfortable win away to Burnely for a change. The midfield controlled the game really well and never allowed Burnley to build any sort of pressure .

On Salah, it's a weird situation because he regularly gets more assists that both Mane and Firmino but he undoubtedly has more of a selfish streak in him. I don't have too much of an issue with Salah going for goal at 3-0 and generally speaking he's very selfless when the game is still in the balance, it's only when we're 2 or 3 goals up, particularly if he hasn't scored, that he gets a bit desperate for a goal.

edit: and **** me, look at the size of VVD. It's only when you see him stood next to people like Walters and Carragher that you realise just how big he is. If they could find a rock big enough they'll build statues of him one day.

Them having to adjust the camera when he came along was great :D

Zouma receiving a lot of racial abuse or something? That was weird whatever they were told to talk about and then swerve 0.o
