Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [31st October - 5th November 2014]

Pretty gutted with that. Stupid Stupid Smalling allowed City to get a foot back in the game with his sending off.

Yup, and I dare say if Di Maria was actually playing well today and someone with a better touch rather than fellaini then they may have very well created a goal. Di Maria has wasted all his corners and fellaini has just been, well fellaini.

That's why I was wanting Herrera on in the 2nd half, nothing against Wilson (who I think is a really good prospect) but wasn't the right game for him imo

Carrick and McNair didn't actually look too bad as a CB pairing lol

Well, considering how pear shaped that went we did quite well and probably should have equalised (dodged a few penalty shaped bullets though).

At least we've shown some character, but **** you Chris Smalling.

You had a lot of the ball but Hart had one good save to make, De Gea made a number of good saves and then there was Navas hitting the post and 23 blatant pens turned down :p It would have been harsh on City not to win.

It was harsh that Zabaletta wasn't sent off too and that would have given Utd a much better chance at scoring

Chelsea and City have seemingly forgotten how to actually kill off games - it may not be such a cake walk to the title

Di Maria hasn't gotten even a hint of criticism that I've seen lately(before this game). He had a few stonking games to start with, some brilliant assists, some in general great movement, great play, being very effective. But for a few games he's been pretty crap in general. Today he did almost nothing, ball fell to him effectively able to shoot from inside the box with no defenders to block and produced a soft shot that was easily palmed away. A bunch of woeful corners, some terrible passing, poor crossing, fluffed it quite a few times in giving it away cheaply in Utd's defensive third.

If City weren't as crap as they were today they'd have spanked this Utd side and even with City playing very poorly Utd offered very little.

Rooney was dire except for that one run, but his choice at the end of the run was horrendous. The 16-24 yr old Rooney would have made that run(and another 5 like it in the game) but absolutely blasted it at the keeper at the end of the run.

Even with everything that went wrong though, and a makeshift defence, we didn't collapse and kept going. Nobody played particularly well but I still count this as progress.

With 11 men and everyone fit things might be different but we've got serious injury issues now. It'll be Carrick and McNair at the back for the next game I guess. :/

And if Utd didn't have as many injuries Utd may have even won that game.

Rooney has been out for a month, and still worked hard in CM all game (much further back than normal)
