Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [3rd - 7th April 2015]

Woeful defending and goalkeeping.

How can Mignolet be beaten that side, if he gets it up and over the wall you have to say fair play, but to be beaten that side, horrific goalkeeping.

So this first half we have been dire. Defence dire. Moreno for first goal just fudged it, Midfield isnt working Lucas/Allen never ever work both immoble and dont tackle or press.

Markovic offers nothing at all, At this point Rodgers should just go to 4 at back in some games our formation doesn't aid us at all.

Sterling for what is the 3rd game in a row showing how raw he is bags of potential but does not deserve this mega contract him or his agent is after, Still abit wasteful and drifts in and out of games.

Take Markovic off and shove Lovren on cant be any worse swap it to 4 at back. Get Henderson back in the middle not at RWB.

great game for the neutral - a little unfair on Liverpool (even given the first five minutes or so), but with Stirling having that kind of pass into him with an open net, maybe it was never going to be Liverpool's day

Toure has been shocking, and Lucas was made to look rusty in the first 10 minutes or so but has grown into the game since then.

Cant really say Arsenal don't deserve 3, but Liverpool probably deserve at least 1 for their endevours so far - should improve with Sturridge warming up

.

Think that's a little harsh given what little he has been feeding on so far (just going off this game)

Totally agree about the contract though

If anyone pays anything like £50m for him then they have more money than sense ( $50m would even be ridiculously high for a rough /but inconsistent diamond like that)

I'd actually not be averse to selling Sterling. If we get £50m for him and sign a proper left back/wing back, a centre back, and a reasonable striker (Jovetic?), we'd strengthen hugely.

Currently, we either play Sterling at right wing back, or drop Sturridge, Lallana or Cout to accommodate him. If we sell him and buy well, we rebalance the team.

I think it really shows how much of an overhaul Liverpool need, despite having an overhaul just a year ago. It also shows how much of a mess Liverpools defence is and how influential Skrtel is

... We should get those players I aswell as keeping Sterling.

Stirling has a lot of potential, but in no way is he a £50m player. If he were an Arsenal player and we received that kind of offer for him I'd snatch their arms off for it and drive him to the airport myself.

Why can't we? Bumper TV deals, big contracts leaving, Borini, lambert, aspas, Alberto and Balotelli all likely to be sold. No reason why we can't at all.

Because they want to play in the Champion's League and challenging for trophies?

Not sitting 5th in the table and playing in the Europa League.

Missed the first 10 mins so can't comment on the start but up until the first goal we'd done pretty well. That said from the first goal we were far too sloppy on the ball and with our defending and punished by 3 clinical finishes.
