I hate this sort of attitude. The day you start accepting any degree of failure you may as well give up. You're Man Utd ffs not some mid table side.

Whether we'd be in the position we are in now had we qualified for the Europa League last year I don't know but given the choice I'd have rather seen us qualify than not every day of the week.

I get your point, but not having to play on a Thursday (and then a Saturday or Sunday) will more than likely help. And we'll more than likely lose to Benfica or someone in the Europa league in our current fragile state.

I dont see United getting top 4 next season, to much work has to be done in such a short space of time getting used to a new coach and probably a complete overhaul of the team.

It just doesn't all come together in one season no matter how much u spend tbh. Would be surprised to see United get top 4 next season but i have been wrong before.

Simply not true, but a fair few changes are needed.

Really? It's going to take more than a few bargain buys to sort United out. Unless you think that they're going to get incredibly lucky and find the next Vidic, next Ronaldo, next Keane etc. on the cheap all in the same transfer window. This is the caliber of player that United needs right now, and they won't come cheap, you're talking at least £20-30m per player. Then there's the usual "up and coming" young talent that United always buy for £5-15m per player.

No they coudnt - and imo there are better choices for squad players than Pearson (with no disrespect to him). Both need a lot of experience before they are starters in the 1st team
Varela is better than the crock Rafael. Pearson looked better than Cleverley, Carrick and Fletcher combined.

It'd always be a sunday

Sure, every good players costs £20-30m

You need to stop talking, you're making yourself look very silly.

Mixed feelings. Don't know if I want promotion this season or not. A trip to Wembley would be nice though.

Another year in the Championship and promotion next year would be perfect.

1stly - every single purchase doesnt need to be top notch (even IF a top notch player wants to gamble on the unknown LvG/Utd combination)

2nd - Filling out a few squad /1st team positions with decent £10-20m players will improve a lot of the performances from this season.

While the above may not allow us to challange the top three directly , getting a point out of games like today for example and maybe getting one or two wins from what were draws against lower league teams isnt that hard to see (and thats all Utd would need to challange for top 4)

Reading fans invaded the pitch in celebration, only to find that Brighton scored an injury time winner to take their playoff spot

LoL

They have been planning it on their forum all week:o

Can you blame them for invading the pitch after getting 7th. Great achievement! At least that sumg **** Adkins might shut up for a while now

Rubbish result for Utd but massive upgrade on the manager comments - honesty sure trumps that insipid 'we tried hard and just got unlucky but we're improving' nonsense :p

Shame for Fulham though, been to their ground a few times and always had a good time, feel they probably have enough to come back up.
