Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4 - 8th May 2013]

Le Fondre's goal actually quality!

Ripped on him so many times this season for being a bit part player but if he could have done that more often Reading really could have made a go of the prem!

Yeah Bales goal was really good sadly, other than that Spurs weren't really doing much (and neither were we).

I really enjoyed my trip to WHL, probably one of the best grounds this season for shape, view, distance from the pitch and banking, just let down by the spurs fans being silent till that Bale goal in the 85 min.

Either way a game that was always going to be either a spanking or someone nicking it in the last min it was a good performance from us which is what I was asking for considering last weekends total capitulation to WBA. Shame it had to be Bale fc nicking it really...

You go to a lot of PL games do you not? Unless your away fans are turd youre going to be louder than the other fans 9/10, don't see why youd be arsed on them making noise unless you hear none from your own :p

Sick hit from Bale, looked like went over keepers arm though

He's done a pretty good job in the Prem to be honest. I'd love McDermott to bring him to Leeds. Won't happen mind.

It's a great hit from Bale, Boruc could have done more but Bale takes it away from enough players to make it a great hit.

Just disappointed pretty much all home fans in the premier league sit quietly and twiddle their thumbs :p (makes it less of an event)

I have a feeling Adkins is right on him, aka he's not great over 90 mins but as either a super sub or an impact player he would do a good job, a really good job in the champ too.

Would depend where you sit surely?.. At the Amex for example, the away fans sit right next to the family stand, full of kids and old people, then complain that they don't see much animation from them.. When at the other end of the stadium, where the 'hardcore' fans sit, you will be deafened by the noise! (and can't hear the away fans).

Usually I would agree but trips to some of the bigger prem teams this season has been a bit of a disappointment to not really hear anything from home fans anywhere in the ground, except when we inevitably concede... (then its quiet again)

Only time we heard any spurs songs was from 5 drunk spurs fans on the tube back into the rest of London which was very depressing.

Yeah, it had to be him that got the winner didn't it. I envy their attacking football and urgency, but not their defense.

They have 4 first team defenders out to be fair.

Why do Newcastle fans have such an issue with McManaman when your lot put in stinkers of challenges every week? Tiote and Cabaye are far dirtier then McManaman?

I guess you lot are just jealous of McManamans talent...fair enough

Watching our game today and im confident of a win, i know everton have been playing well but i think the technical abilty of Countinho will be too much for them and hopefully Sturridge has another perfect game.

We should win it for Carragher anyway :D

EDIT: Our first 11 for today Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Agger, Carragher, Lucas, Henderson, Gerrard, Coutinho, Downing, Sturridge.

Hate playing Everton, you never know if they're going to turn up or not. If they want to win it they're impossible to break down. If they don't fancy it it could be a thumping.

Moyes saying we always go to Anfield and attack... :o What a dope.

Any way, Wrexham back into the Football League today hopefully, would take that over beating Liverpool any day. Come on youuuuuuuu red men!

Nothing seems to be going our (Newcastle),way. Mcmanaman scoring the winner, when he should have been banned.

Michu is now out for the season which will make wigans game that much easier...

All I hope for this week is a Stoke win on Monday and a Swansea win midweek

Wigan getting some lucky calls, what is especially irritating is seeing Macmanaman playing.

We are staying up . Pleased and relieved. Bring on building for next season.

31,375 people there, Middlesborough were terrible & Middlesborough didn't really bring many fans either.
