Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4th - 10th May 2018]

They'd need Southampton to beat either Everton or Swansea and then win their last game along with anothet Swansea loss. Highly unlikely but they've given themselves the most unlikely of chances.

They need Southampton to lose to Everton. A draw in the Southampton Swansea game. and the Southampton and Swansea to lose their final games.
Oh and they need to win their win final game of course with enough goals to have higher goal difference over Swansea.

Huh? They need Southamton to lose to Everton, draw with Swansea and then Swansea and Southampton to both lose on the final day with West Brom winning their final game. If Southampton were to win any game they'd be on 35 points with WBA on 31 with 1 game left. It's incredibly unlikely still but to have got the points they have in the last couple of weeks has beene amazing given the state they were in.

As a Southampton fan, getting merely a single point against Swansea and them losing in the last week too seems like a distinct possibility :p

Tadic lost the ball twice already and only touched it twice, hopefully not an indicator that he's back to his usual atrocious form.

West Brom are surviving by the skin of their teeth :p

So they'd need Southampton/Swansea to be a draw now then.

Always needed to be a draw for them. The draw today does make it a little harder for WBA - now they're going to need to win their last game by a few goals and or Southampton to lose by a few on the last day, as well as Swansea losing of course.

For all that to happen is still an enormously long shot but I'd imagine they'll be happy to even be in with a faint sniff considering where they were 5 games ago.

Southampton play Man City on the last day. If City are in the mood then Saints goal difference could take a battering.

After how Moore has turned west Bromwich around (aided by end of season mailase a little) one has to wonder if pardew will ever get a job again in football.

Cardiff can't mess this up surely, Reading are woeful. That Cardiff team in the PL though, sweet baby jesus!

The question is do they have the funds to go out and buy players if they do get promoted. They have quite a solid defensive foundation to build on.
