Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4th - 5th December 2018]

Honestly I'm hopeful if it goes badly tonight, Arsenal punish us and get Mourinho the sack.

That said, it's Arsenal so we'll probably win :o
Like you I hope arsenal thrash us and mourinho gets sacked I've had enough of listening to him and watching poor football

Lots of changes for Liverpool: Alisson, Gomez, Matip, VVD, Moreno, Hendo, Milner, Keita, Shaqiri, Origi and Sturridge.

I know there's lots of games coming up and you've got to rotate somewhere but with Mane out injured I'd have liked to have seen Salah stay in the side. Hopefully Keita and Shaq can step up and provide the creativity for us today.

Not happy about this lineup. I know its Burnley but we have to keep piling the pressure on Man City, if things go wrong tonight and we dont get the 3 pts Klopp has opened himself to a lot of criticism with so many changes.

Blimey, there’s 7 defensive players in that Utd line up and just three proper attacking ones, at home to Arsenal.

Just horrible.

I wasnt expecting so many changes though! It is a side that should spank Burnley still :D

I know there's the cliche of taking one game at a time but it's really not as simple as that. We've got a really busy month coming up with lots of important games and at some point we're going to have to make changes. It seems extreme but a lot of the changes were either enforced or make perfect sense. Mane and Robertson have knocks and with Moreno playing it makes sense for us to have a more defensive RB and having some extra height in the side is never a bad thing vs Burnley so the Trent/Matip change is fair enough. Milner and Hendo for Gini and Fabinho are a much of a muchness so no issues there and given Firmino's form I think it makes sense to give him a rest. The only one for me is Salah but even then, if you don't rest him today when do you? Bournemouth, Napoli and Utd in the next 10 days or so, it's difficult to leave him out of them especially if Mane's got a knock (no idea how long he might be out for).

I dont know, just seems to highlight how much weaker we are beyond the first team to me. In theory its "only" Burnley and our second string ought to be good enough to still secure the points but I still just dont know. Right at the moment if you gave me a choice of Salah tonight or Salah v Napoli, I'd take Salah tonight. We'll see though, could be that I am worrying over nothing and we'll get the points anyway, we'll know in a couple hours time.

We can't assemble a squad like City's and thus this will be the difference and potentially knock our confidence.

Really interested to see how Origi does, him and sturridge if play well could maybe get a look in, firmino has been poor so its there best chance

Id be using 4312 since he has Sturridge and Origi on but thats me

Barrier has killed off Gomez for us by looks of it :(

Barrier my arse, they’ve been putting in horrible challenges since the start and nearly injured Moreno also. Commentator banging on each tackle is fair and within the law, like if you’re saying that every tackle clearly you’re full of ****

Arsenal have been crap so far but unless we can go at least 3 goals up we will still lose.

The challenge on Gomez was okay, One on Moreno was easily a yellow though
