Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4th - 8th March 2016]

Well done Leicester. Still not sure though. There's still 9 games to go. Once it gets down to the last four or five and if they are just 4 or 5 points in front, that's when the true test begins, particularly as 3 of their last 5 are against West Ham, Man Utd and Chelsea.

Doesn't stop anyone in the football world does it. Especially England. How many kids have had Rooney , Terry , giggs etc on their shirt . huge list of popular nobbers

Indeed, they all just people and as in any walk of life there's decent, grounded, likeable players then there's tosses, racists, arrogant ***** it's always been like that and always will.

With the advent of social media and 24 hour news it's just now more obvious to spot the obnoxious ******* than it once was.

I am so glad to see other comments on how much of a **** Vardy is! I had started to think that side of him had been forgotten. Quality footballer, but would have an ASBO if he wasn't a famous footballer.

I don't know many people who look at those players in a good light to be honest - even fans of their teams

When I mentioned it a while ago on here I was told that I was overreacting!

It's the same as Suarez - absolute **** but great at his profession. Just because someone is good at something it doesn't mean you have to show them any respect if you have a valid reason.

i'm not so sure

I just can't see anyone else doing it. I really hope Spurs do though!

If it wasn't for Vardy I wouldn't mind seeing Leicester win the league.

Same, I'm pretty narked today at Arsenal or Spurs for not taking the inititive and making a fight of it. I cannot believe how this is being handed to Leicester. Even when they drop points the others are falling over themselves to fail.

I thought they would drop off but the others are making it almost impossible for them not to win the league. I'm sure next year they will set another record, champions to relegated.

I don't find them that interesting or entertaining to watch and Vardy is just this years Phillips. The shame though rests with the rest of the shower of **** letting such mediocrity challenge.

Can say exactly the same for Spurs, Arsenal and Man City then...

What exactly has he done to upset you?

Nothing to upset me. As I said, the diving, racism and general ****ishness wouldn't bother me if he was actually labelled as a ****. The way it's all glossed over as if it never happened is nauseating.

Wouldn't call Leicster medicore they are very good at what they do or they wouldn't be top.

The thing is dannyjo hasn't watched all of Leicester's games this season - I've seen almost every single one of them...

And tbf the games that have been televised on Sky or BT we haven't been very good - except for away at Man City - I thought we were magnificent in that game and it was one of our best performances of the season, but every other game on Sky or BT has been a bit frustrating in the respect that that's how every other team's fans or neutrals / whomever will base their opinions - you don't really get the full effect watching the highlights on motd as to how we've played in a game.

That said I think the dynamics of our play have changed somewhat since Christmas - there are still games where we look thoroughly on top and dominating (again - Man City away being the best example of this) but I've noticed quite a few games recently where our football hasn't been at it's best.

Maybe it's a case of fatigue - remember we're a small squad for a team at the top of the table - maybe it's a case of pressure getting slightly to the lads (I don't see it showing in their performances but you will naturally tighten up the closer the end of the season gets when in this kind of position, unfamiliar territory to say the least)... maybe it's because other teams are setting up a bit differently against us now having seen how we counter and set up in midfield...

But overall my word we have been exciting to watch - Vardy is exciting anytime he's near the ball, Mahrez too, absolute magic feet, Kante is an incredible player who's vision and ability to read the game is unsurpassed in terms of any Leicester City midfielder I've ever seen... Huth and Morgan at the back are a brilliant pairing this season playing great defensively...Schlupp is exciting to watch going forward - terrifying pace down the flanks, Drinkwaters passing and vision has been brilliant this season too, we've got a lot of exciting players to watch and we can play very good football at times - it's not the "pass the parcel" football Barcelona play which a lot of people like the looks of - looks quite pretty and all that (though personally sends me to sleep)... it's fast, quick, counter attacking and full of energy, the best type of football - as Pulis said after we beat WBA - we play good old fashioned counter attacking football which is exciting to watch...

and tbh - United played like this for year under Fergie - and they were (as much as I hate to say it ) great to watch, exciting, dynamic and impulsive... exactly how we are playing this season in most of our games...

United this season have bored me more than any other team in the top 10, anyime I've watched them on MOTD or Live they really do bore, no wonder their fans want him out.

Some of the games on TV we frustratingly look quite scrappy at times - I thought we were a bit scrappy and rough around the edges tonight but we had that bit of magic from Riyad and there were a few solid performances in the team.
