Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [4th - 8th March 2016]

yep, it's all gone a tad handbags really!

the table tells the story but i've never seen leicester completely outclass a team, toy with a team or put a sublime passing game together. they just have a very effective game plan due to their lethal frontline but they're not ruthless. what's their biggest win margin been?

Same, I'm pretty narked today at Arsenal or Spurs for not taking the inititive and making a fight of it. I cannot believe how this is being handed to Leicester. Even when they drop points the others are falling over themselves to fail.

I thought they would drop off but the others are making it almost impossible for them not to win the league. I'm sure next year they will set another record, champions to relegated.

I don't find them that interesting or entertaining to watch and Vardy is just this years Phillips. The shame though rests with the rest of the shower of **** letting such mediocrity challenge.

Have you even watched them? I don't see how you can be serious.

How does it matter if they don't win by dominating passing or possession? Who says that's the way you must win? They play fast pace, attacking football, perhaps in a counter attacking manner but it's a lot more exciting and fun than watching 1001 pass Arsenal possession football (IMO)

i agree but is it sustainable? what else have they got in their locker if plan A falls flat. it's worked so far but as i said, i think the other teams in the mix will find another gear

Televised yes, live no. Even smr himself has aknowledged how meh they have been in those games. None of us can watch every single minute of every team. I don't find them interesting to watch. Each to their own, I'm just not desperate for them to win the league, more asking questions of the managers unable to stop them with greater resources and options. I can't see them not winning the league now, the consistency with the so called top clubs is terrible. I'd have fancied either Arsenal or Spurs hads they got 3 points today, but even if Leicester draw the next game the pair of them will likely not capatilise.

I would agree with you on that point.

They have struggled recently because teams have found out how to counter them, just play them at their own gane. For all the talk of Mahrez to X top club he clearly isn't in that bracket as when teams are shutting up shop Mahrez and the rest are really struggling to pick the lock.

They need to hope plan A gets them over the line this year then it's up to Ranieri to spend money in the summer to build a viable plan B which they don't really have.

Btw I do appreciate the irony of saying they aren't doing well when in the last 3 games they have got 7 points, but they have got them without being really convincing.

Can I ask - did you watch us play Man City away?

Give me examples of plan Bs being successful for other teams in the Prem then.

I wouldn't say many teams have a viable plan B, however I would say the Spurs/Arsenal/City systems are more adaptable on the fly. By that I mean their system's are more able to cope with a team attacking against them or sitting back against them (I would say especially so with Spurs) and they do not need much tweaking.

Whereas the Leicster main approach is very specific and struggles to adapt when countered.

Leicester are close to being odds on favourites now (13/10).

Adding Spurs (3/1), the odds are suggesting it is very likely we will have a new Premier League winner.

If it wasn't for Vardy I wouldn't mind seeing Leicester win the league.

I've been to watch Leicester a lot, the majority of my friends are Leicester fans / season ticket holders, the context is important.

He's a ****.

Don't get me wrong, I've no problems liking ****s - I loved Suarez - but the fact he doesn't get recognised as the **** he is, is nauseating.

This. Are you forgetting the assault charges too?

Myself included in this, I think he's a good forward/striker (whatever you describe him as) but he's an odious person, and a lot of Leicester fans I know share this opinion. "He's a ****, but he's our ****."

To be honest, I don't drink alcohol but at our annual Christmas Eve knee's up at the local I did loudly declare that Leicester would win the league, even the Leicester fans didn't believe me :(. I should have put ******* money on it.

Such an interesting last period of the league.

So many clubs in and out of form and still in for a top four finish (yes I'm looking at you Chelsea and Manchester United).

Can't agree with everyone saying Leicester play bad football, what does that say about the other 19 teams below them?

They deserve to be at the top, no denying it. They aren't scoring hundreds but they are grinding the points. That's the mark of champions
