****** sky and monday night football

Going to be a tough one for Utd, hopefully Rafael is fit enough to start as he would be a huge addition on that side

Us versus Them this weekend. The future potential in-laws are all big Huddersfield Town fans, so they're treating us to a weekend up north (in Emley?). Don't think I'd be able to take it if we lost!

Newcastle XI: Elliot, Janmaat, Coloccini, S.Taylor, Dummett, Sissoko, Tiote, Colback, Ameobi, Perez, Cabella.

Chelsea XI: Courtois, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta, Mikel, Fabregas, Willian, Oscar, Hazard, Costa.

Good first half from us. A few minor scares, but nothing too serious.

Hopefully Elliot will make it back out for the second half, otherwise I guess we'll see what young Jak Alnwick is made of.

EDIT: Jak Alnwick it is. Still confident.

Fabregas sitting too deep and being too cautious because Matic isn't playing. He's playing a much more defensive role and playing it well this season in general. Under rated defensively but he's so good offensively it's still a bit of a waste. I really don't see Oscar doing enough offensively and haven't ever thought he's done well enough. There is very little linking up or good work going on in the final third from Chelsea, mark Costa and run Hazard into the corner and Oscar just isn't enough of a threat nor uses the ball well enough to matter.

Though Oscar will now obviously score or set up a goal :p

Chelsea have had these kinds of games more often lately where they just don't seem very threatening. Don't know if the potential for an unbeaten season is playing into their mindset, with Fabregas sitting deeper than he was earlier in the season and Chelsea looking less offensive than they did early season. Does feel a bit like not conceding is becoming more important than scoring.

Newcastle are defending well though and have at times had good breaks but both sides tame upfront really.

wow, first a brilliant clearance by Mikel for Newcastle, then at the other end a great assist from Cahill for Cisse :p

Chelsea defensive players not having the best couple of minutes there.

Been coming that, just looks like one of those games, now to see if they can hold on

Rofl should easily be 2-0, Liverpool style corner defending
