The tackles were COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
To use a Ray Wilkins saying, My word how can you even suggest they are close.
Kompany was on the floor WAY before Nani got there, he jumped in while Nani was miles away and there wasn't a chance of Nani getting there before Kompany was on the floor. His feet WEREN'T together, nor were his legs locked.
His foot came slightly off the floor, but unlocked legs, separated feet, zero danger, Nani didn't jump out of the way, he simply wasn't there till after Kompany was down.
Now the Johnson one, he hit Lescott's foot but he was withdrawing it, he was not on the floor before he got there, both feet were together, his legs were locked. If he makes contact with a planted leg his ENTIRE body weight would have gone through with no bending of his legs to even take a little force out of it. That would have been a broken leg.
These tackles aren't even slightly similar except they were by footballers and on a pitch, and the first part of that is highly questionable
Go right now up to a wall, lock or your leg and push into the wall, now do the same thing with your leg bent. There is a HUGE amount of give and reduction in power with a bent leg, two legs together, locked, studs showing off the floor is the single most dangerous type of tackle that can be made, Kompanys, on the ground before the player gets there, feet apart, legs bent, wins the ball, no contact with the player? Sorry that isn't a red, a yellow or even a foul.
