Good win for us today after the shambles against Dortmund.
Helped massively to have Barry back today. Alongside Milner he was key in our attacks being more fluid like last season.

Nice to get a clean sheet as well.

I think what might have been key is that Dortmund are pretty brilliant, and Sunderland are whats known as completely and utterly ****.

Oh and jonny, you can be the usual Arsenal fan and pretend we were truly brilliant because we won and terrible every time we lose, or be sensible.

Nolan should unquestionably have scored one, it was a shocking miss, and had most of the best chances in the game, really should have had a hatrick. We weren't bad, Santi did very little till the final 25-30 mins, before then he wasn't shooting at goal and wasn't making many penetrating runs or passing through the middle.

Defensively we sucked balls, badly, Mertesackers positioning for the goal was horrendous, even as the shot came in he moved away from the goal rather than towards the ball. Jenkinson probably made a fairly bad mistake in closing down the guy way on the wing before the ball got there, leaving a huge space but mertesacker should still have been in that space. Ramsey did well to mark the run but his tackle/attempt to hold up Diame was pathetic, don't over commit, just get between him and the goal, instead he made a move for the ball, left himself easy to pass and boom, goal. LIkewise for set pieces we lost almost all the headers, let them get some superb chances. We had one save off the line pretty much, the Nolan miss from inside the 6 yard box from a set piece, amongst others.

Offensively, Gervinho was poo, Walcott finished very nicely but did nothing else worthwhile at all, Podolski is great, Gibbs can't cross to save his life. The thing that is really hurting us is just how much of the ball we have been giving to Gibbs and Gervinho, its kept Podolski too quiet, get Podolski on the ball and we look so SO much more threatening.

Lastly, Ramsey, deft finishing he can do, shooting with power.... he's ruddy terrible. Overall we could very easily have lost that game, if Nolan didn't have a shocker we probably would have. Saying that, West Ham aren't anywhere near as bad as people think but, even against good teams, the best teams, we can't concede that many chances and be so unable to win the ball at set pieces.

Good God Grant Holt is a lump, his arse is bigger than Ivanovic's :o
Good player though.
Mata was outstanding today, it's frightening that Spain haven't a place for him in their squad.
SFL equaled the record for Chelsea goals in the top league & he only needs 15 more to become our highest scorer ever, I hope he does it, he deserves to.
Oscar, again, was brilliant on and off the ball, he's going to be a world beater.
Luiz had another great game too, in fact the only 'weak' point today was that Torres fluffed a couple of simple chances.
There was some simply brilliant football played today, against a poor team admittedly, but it's stunning to watch.

Yes Dortmund were brilliant and Sunderland aren't fantastic but they took the most points off us last season and were unbeaten until today so were still a challenge.

Anyway Barry was key today as was Milner, we could have very easily lost today to some scrappy Fletcher goal in the 70th min but we didn't.

Chelsea were good but Norwich were also very, very poor. Look at Hazard's goal for example. Yes Mata's pass was very impressive but the Norwich players for some reason decided to form a back 5 and allow him to run at them and he had the quality to pick the pass.

Norwich still have the same problems, creating plenty of chances and not taking them and then being very fragile at the back. Last season we took enough chances that it didn't matter how many we conceded but this season we are conceding more and scoring less.

It's going to be a tough year.

And more. Dirty *******

Do explain.

Well I can't help but feel Vaz Te deserves that dislocated shoulder.

As above.

Well he's a shockingly bad footballer so probably deserves it...

Except, had West Ham not signed him we wouldn't have got promoted. By far our most valuable player in the second half of last season. 1 goal and a couple of assists in his first 6 games this season. So bad he's keeping Yossi Benayoun out of the team at the moment. Yep, he's a terrible footballer.
