Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [7th - 9th November 2014]

The two touch thing is technically correct, been a while since I've seen the rules, I'm not sure it's always a retake of the freekick though, indirect freekick to QPR much like a foul throw seems more appropriate. Similar to the rule that if a goalkick is taken if it doesn't leave the penalty box then it's not in play, I think in that case it has to be taken again.

What happened?

Austin scored but it was offside, Hart took the freekick and passed it straight to Austin who scored but it was ruled out after a bit of thinking about it because as the replay shows, Hart actually did that thing where you accidentally tap the ball first with your standing foot before hitting it with the other foot. Technically speaking after a ball is hit in such situations the same player can't be the next person to touch it.

I think frankly the ref would have been within his rights to give it.

Austin just almost scored again... wtf happened to City.

As DM says, Hart took a free kick from inside the box and inadvertently knocked it with his left foot before scuffing it with his right straight to Austin who buried it.

I think toure just hit a Young kid in the face with that ball lol

It actually annoyed me, if I took my kid I'd be watching where the ball was coming from and protect her! They made no effort! I can't imagine how much that would have hurt from a kids perspective..

So seeing as Hart struck it twice does that not mean an in-direct free kick for QPR then?
