Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [7th - 9th November 2014]

Probably just bored of the press hounding him about it.

A couple of seasons (with a hefty budget) is enough to get a team playing at somewhere approaching the very top level.

Well that's his fault, he shouldn't have said it. I doubt many fans would have been too upset if when he joined he said 3 years to make the club great again, especially following moyes spell. Now after his self proclaimed 3 months, you have worse results than last year, spent a fair bit of money and had the worst start since 86? despite having the best fixtures anyone could hope for to start.

All that pressure he invited on himself. I was listening to 5live on the way home, interesting that they said Kroos was a done deal under moyes for the summer and Cesc too. They said LVG vetoed the Kroos deal straight away. First I had heard of any of that

Of all the footballing cliches (soft pen, debatable offside, never a red card) surely the done deal has to be one of the best whoppers. If it was a done deal then surely it would be err a done deal ?

Yeah of course they didn't elaborate on the extent of the agreement, verbal, with agent or pre contract. I thought it was odd.

First trip to The Den tomorrow - very excited. been an amazing week for Brentford, a last minute winner against top of the league Derby County, and then a storming win over Forest away on Wednesday. Hoping for a hat trick of wins tomorrow.

Good luck today, it's been nice knowing you :p

I'm half hoping Rodgers plays same team that played vs Madrid as that was our most solid defence and tbf over all played better than most our first team has all season,

I'm sure a bit of that's lost in translation but it's still a daft thing to say.

very daft thing to say. Just gives the players a great excuse to keep under-performing.

United need a big win today or i am gonna start to get worried.

Rodgers well done you have ****ed it up yet again prior to the match starting i await the mauling now :( really starting to lose patience with him this season, He isnt learning, He is giving wrong players countless chances who by now should be dropped, wont try new tactics to what i can only assume is out of fear or a back lash of some sort

Lovren and Johnson walk back in the team despite looking far worse than the players that replaced them, 2 man midfield with Gerrard and Mario upfront on his own...

This appears to be a case of a manager that's run out of ideas so keeps playing the same team in the hope they'll just click.
