Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [8 - 11th December 2012]

I thought AOC had a really game

Yup, me too, I thought what about 25-26 players out there had a really game ;)

Key things for me, West brom were poor, outside of the penalty(which he tried to make a meal of and for me wasn't really a foul from him just before), he crossed back from Wilshires ball rather than shooting, he did several poor crosses/passes into the box and that one god awful miles and miles high and wide cross that may well have just been his attempt to make Gervinho look less ****.

AOC is a lot of energy, a lot of running, occasionally beating a man.... but ultimately not a lot else. Now, in the first 5 games he both looked to have more final product, more accurate passing/crossing, but he also had that "look at that energy and drive, good idea's, give him time to add end product and he'll be great" feel to his play.... but over an extra year he's added very little end product to that game leaving him much like Gervinho/Joe Cole/dozen's of others. He can run rings around players with pace, energy and strength, but he's making poor choices at the end of such runs and producing very little.

He still looks MILES better than the likes of Walcott, where as Theo can't (outside of blue moons) take the ball from the half way line to the box himself, AOC can, and if he can just get some shots on target, the odd goal and a cross to someone who can score he could still turn into a really quite handy player. But the longer and longer you go not being able to get the final bit right, the less hope I have he can take that potential and turn it into a solid player. Frankly, there is a point where looking close to being good, just isn't enough and being actually good is required.

If that goal was disallowed, my name is Peter Pervis.

Yet again Howard Webb ruins a great game. Well done Norwich, hit and hope works :p

It was three points but we looked toothless before that dive, toothless after it, and it felt like West Brom were growing into that game before the first penalty. They pushed forward after they went behind which left Gervinho/AOC so much space it was ridiculous, and we still couldn't do crap with it.

West brom seemed really just set up mentally and tactically for the draw, and without the dive I could see them getting it. Again, 3 points are good but there was really no sign of an improvement in our performance, still, after how many damn games.

No hint of a change, most managers would TRY something different, like sending Gervinho to the reserves, like starting Arshavin, like trying a different formation, like giving a couple promising youth players a start to make some of those in the first team worried about their position and work harder.... but not. The chronic underperformers continue to get starts, nothing changes.

Great 3 points for the canaries today, unbeaten in 10 in all comps. Will have to wait till MotD to see how well we played

Took the chances well in the first half, booted to Holt all second half and barely touched the ball :D

So uhhh we won a game via 2 penalties..oh well 3pts from a team that up until a few weeks back were playing decent football.

Just surprised we actually won a game altho I'd rather us won it by 2 goals rather than 2 penalties but meh 3pts is what counts at the end.

Still not going to get carried away just yet as this is Arsenal after all...just hoping we go on a good run of some wins up till the Xmas period.
