It's a bit embarrassing really for all involved. :p
The thing is, that's not nearly the most embarrassing thing he's wrote over the years. My favourite is still his article he wrote on the eve of Chelsea - Utd last season, about the lessons that needed to be learned from the end of Mournho's time at Chelsea. They of course weren't lessons Mourinho needed to learn (of course not, he's perfect), it was Utd that had lessons to learn from all the mistakes Chelsea made when dealing with the best manager in the world. Chelsea went on to win 4-0 and Castles went into hiding for a few days :D

It doesn't matter who you sign, you're never going to play like City while Mourinho is manager. He's always built his sides on a strong defence and then pace, power & physicality in attack. You could have put Coutinho in your midfield (along with Pogba) and City would have still dominated possession - every player Guardiola picks has to be comfortable on the ball, able and willing to play the ball in tight areas. Guardiola sacrifices the pace, power and physicality Utd have for players that are capable of dominating possession and Mourinho the opposite, he'll take a Fellaini or Matic over a 5'5 technical midfielder every day of the week. This is the reason whenever people do these combined 11's they're all a crock of ****. No matter how good people think Pogba is, he's never getting in Pep's midfield and equally Silva isn't getting in Mourinho's midfield*.

I've said it 100 times before, Utd never wanted Mourinho as their manager. We know they tried to get Pep and Klopp but missed out and even settled on Moyes over him - his antics and style of football is why. They've only gone for him because of the disastrous jobs Moyes and LvG done - he was the safest bet to establish them back in the CL and protect the value of the club. Every time Mourinho gets a new job we're told he's changed but every time he's the exact same Mourinho as before.

*He might stick him out on the wing if he didn't have anybody else but he's never playing him in an orthodox central midfield anyway.

Yeah, I can't disagree with anything there, I think most United fans would accept that. I still think City are vunerable at the back though if teams can create chances, particularly with Delph at full-back. I agree that you're never going to win the possession battle against City, so the only way to hurt them is to either sit deep, be very solid defensively and then try to nab a goal on a set piece, or hit them on the break. I think Mourinho might have set up and played differently against City if Pogba was available. I'm not saying we would have got anything out of the game, but Pogba is the one who links play between the defence and attack, and without him we weren't able to break with pace.

Plus a number ten or a free-roaming attacking player (Griezmann for example) would still help against all the other teams in the league ;)

It's not about free roaming attacking players.
Our midfielders can't even pass to one another.

You know when you have 35% possession at home that you have either players not good enough or they played pathetically.

Given recent performances I would go for both.

I used to rather enjoy Mourinho tossing the odd hand grenade and the drama that followed. These days as soon as he comes on tv I tend to turnover. The blokes a whiny ******* bore and it is tedious listening why (one of) the most expensive squads ever is playing like turd ignoring the fact it is his fault.

Hopefully when he finishes imploding ManU he’ll be done for good in the PL as a manager.

I'm surprised he took the Utd job. He strikes me as the kind of man who is concerned only for his own image.

I was expecting him to go to PSG or Bayern Munich in either order so that he could retire claiming to be the greatest manager on earth having won titles in every major European league competition

He was quite funny when he first arrived over here but he really is a bitter **** these days
He was exactly the same back then too. When things are going well he's the loveable rogue but as soon as the pressure got turned up he became a complete ****.

I can't stand him but I'll never tire of his shameless hypocrisy. The man that's sprinted down the touchline as an opposition manager at OT, Anfield and ran onto the pitch acting like a **** at the Nou Camp is criticising another club for playing their music a bit too loud.

10 seconds that sums up Cleverly's career. Takes a shot on the edge of the area and slices it so badly that it goes behind him, he then panics and brings down the Palace player to earn himself a 2nd yellow :D
