Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [8th - 13th March 2019]

Is the Bl that competitive? I think that's one of the reasons PSG got caught out, they win most of their league games so easily - probably not even barely at a jog, and then they come in and expect a CL game to be just as easy.....

Bayern also are on top tonight on GD (think BD have dropped similar amount of points to Liverpool since Christmas)

Admittedly Bl in general is a better league than ligue 1 but even so

any given EPL game can be a shock result
Its pretty competitive these days but yea your right. maybe not so much compared to the EPL.

Did Southampton play 10 men behind the ball against spurs or did spurs just not turn up yesterday?

Ahhh I saw the second and thought it was the winner. That's a poor decision but then Ev got one very early in the first half TBF. It's not Silva's fault Pickfords an idiot

Oh no pickfords a plum, no changing that. But I'm still not convinced with Silva, this team just isn't consistent enough at all.

Spurs packed up and left at half time.

They had enough chances to put the game to bed in the first half but spurned most of them.

Second half Southampton changed a couple of players, pressed more and Spurs just didn't respond.

Think we're in for a struggle today against Burnley. They'll look to sit back and defend deep and nick a goal from a set piece.

I'm hoping Klopp plays Fabinho, one of Milner/Gini/Henderson and one of Keita/Shaq because we'll need someone creative in midfield to help break through them today and Keita started to look half decent before getting dropped a few weeks ago.

Well we opted for Lallana so klopp clearly hasn't learnt

I can only assume something has happened as I can't see why he is suddenly being picked over keita or shaqiri

The fact he's playing Lallana suggests he has. Burnley will put everyone behind the ball, Lallana as poor as he's been of late is still on of the only players who can unlock a defence when he has time on the ball.

He hasn't unlocked anything for ages, Lallana had one good spell for us and that's it.

Shaqiri for me over him imo

No problem with Lallana starting. Yes he's not the player he was a few seasons ago but at least he'll try and take his man on and move the ball forward, can't ask more of Klopp than change things around which he has :)
