Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9 - 17th February 2013]

We need a proper leader on the pitch. None of this lead by example ****, a proper vocal player that'll pick the players up and give them encouragement when we go behind.

Liverpool, lol, what was Rodgers doing taking off Downing instead of Enrique, he was absolutely woeful at left back, Downing would have been better as he was one of the better players on the pitch. Johnson, no idea seemed to consistently get in a position to cross then just wait, then get tackled every time, looking for pen's or just being rubbish, not sure.

Agger for both goals was horribly at fault, that pass from Brunt I think for the second goal was awful, killed most of the danger as it slowed Lukaku then Agger decided to stop, close the gap when leaving a bit of room would have left Lukaku no where to go and Reina didn't cover himself in glory for the second goal either, went right through him.

Foster was a freaking animal tonight though, pretty much every save was absolutely fantastic and clearly kept West Brom in it, who came for 0-0 to 75mins then throw on some strikers and see what they could do, worked a charm.

I just.....I'm going to bed!

Glad that there's someone on here more frustrated by that match than me!

EDIT: I agree with the entirety of DM's post (above) - what on earth is happening tonight?!

I love how pathetic our players were on the rebound, I know Stevie will score 9/10 at least but good players will follow up everytime, lazy **** heads.

Agger is crap in the air

More like why was Henderson taken off and Shelvey not put down at half time

Enrique is the ultimate attack killer though, good point

lol, Mulumbu was excellent in closing and won a lot of the ball, but the amount of 1-2's that he and Enrique did with each other was a tad ridiculous :p

Yeah, gif says it all, pass was poor, Lukaku had to stop, Agger didn't, but he not only stopped, he left Lukaku enough room to go straight past him towards goal(agger 1metre to his left and it would be way harder), and he decided to face up the pitch rather than be ready to match a run. As you said Agger has cost you a bunch of points with poor defending, but then so did Skrtel and so did Reina really, they've all too many games where they've been really quite bad and not enough where they've been excellent.

Agger was awful at the back and posed no threat in the air going forward.

Steve Clarke made the right changes from the bench. BR must have been watching a different game. Borini doesn't strike me as someone who is going to get the goals. With Suarez always pushing out wide, nobody making the runs into the box. Hurry up Sturridge!

Whoever said our defence coaching is **** above is right, even last year it was decent after Lucas got injured.

Also Shelvey and Enrique might as well have had WBA kits on half the time.

Still cant believe Hendo was subbed

Agger arguably cost us 7 points last 3 games, yet its the Reina brigade on a witchunt

Lukaku's shot was straight through Reina though to be fair mate, he should have at least parried it. The damage was already done by that point mind.

I think you've been harsh to call Foster lucky as well, I think he was man of the match personally, he basically kept Liverpool out for 80 minutes.

Penalty decision was a soft one too, it was the type of penalty that if Ashley Young had won it he would have gotten a slaughtering on here.

Liverpool look like they need Sturridge in the team now, the challenge is going to be keeping him fit.

Cant be arsed grimm, not after the city game, superbowl, hurling and that in one week.

Foster motm yeah, still lucky our follow ups suck aka no sturridge

Reinas the man, kept us in it before agger was too busy with his crayolas at the corner
