Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9th - 13th September 2011]

Lindegaard looked fairly solid in the games I saw him in, why did we even buy him? He's got more experience than De Gea (albeit at a much lower level) and seemed fairly confident.

I suppose Fergie wants to find out if he's good enough in the EPL to be relied upon should De Gea fail entirely. I'm sure he won't though.

Hm, and what game shall I watch at 3PM, tempted to watch Arsenal I think.

Is it actually confirmed he's dropping de gea?

Seems like a bad decision to me if true - not gonna help de gea's confidence.

It's not confirmed but I agree that it would be a bad decision if he is dropped.

If Utd think he's their long-term keeper then they've got to let him play through this period. What's going to happen when Utd play Stoke? Leave him out again? He's got to learn to deal with these types of opponents or else all sides that come up against Utd will look to rough him up.

Indeed Baz. I hope he starts, I'll be a bit shocked if he doesn't. I thought it was confirmed!

Anyway, I hope Berbatov starts.

:D

Is it possible to debate a decision (that's not even confirmed) that Taggart makes on this forum without somebody coming out with a 'you think you know better than Fergie' type post?

Yes but it's clear why he would be dropped if it does indeed happen. And nobody here knows how De Gea will take this so saying it wilL dent his confidence is a bit premature.

No more premature than saying he'll be eager to show Taggart he can cope in his next game.

You're right, nobody knows how he will react if he's dropped but we can give an opinion though.

edit: Anyway, here's the rumoured Liverpool side for today:
-------------Reina
--Skrtel--Carra--Agger--Enrique
Henderson-Adam-Lucas-Downing
----------Kuyt--Suarez

With Kelly out and Johnson only fit enough for the bench, it's no surprise to see Skrtel at RB rather than Flanagan given the opposition today. Other than that the only decision to be made was whether Carroll came back into the side and while Kuyt and Suarez has looked our best front pairing so far, it's a bit of a surprise that Carroll hasn't started today; not to play Stoke at their own game as somebody put it but simply because his extra height would have been useful when defending set-plays.

Tough game for us today away at Aldershot, McNaughton on loan from West Ham likely to play at CB - his last game was for West Ham where he got sent off... vs Aldershot. If Midson plays we could snatch a draw, if he doesnt.. 3-0 loss I reckon. :(

City:
Hart, Clichy, Kompany, Lescott, Richards, Yaya Toure, James Milner, David Silva, Tevez and Aguero.

Strong side.

Dzeko and Barry rested for Napoli.
Surprised to see Aguero considering he has been in India these last couple of weeks.

I know it's only Wigan but you're only fielding 10 men?

edit: and the Liverpool side above is now confirmed. Bellamy and Coates both on the bench.
I just realised that.

They have missed someone out. Likely Balotelli or A Johnson i think.

EDIT:
MCFC team to play Wigan: Hart, Richards, Kompany (c), Lescott, Clichy, Yaya, Milner, A. Johnson, Silva, Aguero, Tevez
