Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9th - 15th December 2016]

Won the Champions Leage twice with Barca in 4 years, they've won it once since. Youngest manager to win the competition, only managed Barca B before taking the main seat, awesome player in his day as well. You don't even need to look at his honours to realise he has something special about him, interviews with people that know him and work with him are extremely enlightening to how he ticks.

Loads of people saying "Leicester are back" but I just think guardiola was incredibly niave and arrogant this match.

It is embarrassingly obvious how to beat leicster and it has shown this season with their league but guardiola clearly thought "stuff it, I'm so good I can do it my way" and they deservedly got spanked.

I've respect for managers who stick to their principles but that was just arrogance and he needs to wise up.

Spurs team:

#THFC: Lloris (C); Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose; Wanyama, Dembele; Eriksen, Dele, Son; Kane.

Poor Mata. He's been one of our best players this season yet is suddenly out of favour.

Subs: Vorm, Wimmer, Davies, Dier, Winks, Sissoko, Nkoudou. #COYS

Thought he was going to square that but he had other ideas. Lovely finish, curled that in beautifully from that angle. Also Fabregas... lol, changed the game entirely in minutes with that 'intentional' assist :p

Willian there with like a 5 on 3 break and he picked the stupidest pass of all rather than the simple one, again. He scores goals but like the other week before he scored the goal almost all his other play was absolutely abysmal.

I believe the term is one trick pony. I've got more respect for managers who park the bus when necessary.

I would disagree with one trick pony, back in Man Utd's pomp they had a way of playing and made teams adapt to them as opposed to changing for them. I think guardiola is similarly disposed to say to others "adapt to me" but in some instances you have to flex especially with city's poor defence.

Thats certainly the case, but he's been at clubs where you don't have to flex. I think he'll get it right but it will take some time i suppose. Conte for example has hit the ground running, he's made a tactical switch to 3 at the back and it's working, i think Pep is still working out his best line up.

Great strike by Mkhitaryan

Mkhi is the type of player who will affect games by just being on the pitch. Even when he doesn't assist or score, teams will start to tactically target him and this will make room for others to play.
